Mapsource on laptop - in car gps navigation

This is most likely a stoopid question but how can I use my garmin gps map 60 in car hooked up to the laptop to display location? I used to be able to do this but upgraded mapsource to 6.12.4 I can't figure out how to now?

Question: What is nRoute?
Answer:
Garmin nRoute brings Garmin's award-winning auto-routing navigation to your laptop, utilizing the larger screen to display a large map and easy-to-read directions. Along with nRoute you will also need a Garmin GPS receiver and detailed street level mapping. For more information about nRoute, visit our website at: http://www.garmin.com/software/nRoute_276.exe.
*Note: nRoute is a discontinued product. The link provided is the last version updated. For an active product from the same family, please look at the On The Go section of the Garmin website found at http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/onthego/.
