Not a pic but a short vid of last Saturday, when we were in the Belgian woods.

It was fun.

Ok, that Sportster rig is seriously cool. Somebody put a lot of time and effort into that rig.

G/day Richard

Sorry, I have been some what slack. In the last few days I have at last got some mobility, and have been out and about. The boredom of sitting at home unable to do sweet f**k all for 6 weeks was getting to me. Any way enough of my whinging, no one want's to listen, on to more important matters.

That photo of the roadside welding was taken last year when we were travelling along the Sandover Hwy in the NT. That road is dirt and over 720 kms between towns.

The outfits were Slab on his Bandit 1200, Robin and Greg Doubleday on their K100 and me on the Tuck Truck

Here are a few more photo's of that breakdown, which was about 350kms from Alice Springs.

Thankfully happened at at a convinent shaded roadside stop.

Cleaning up the aircrack

Setting up the welding.

Both Slab and Greg were involved in the work, Me, I just took photo's.

Then Slab

Notice Greg holding the spark splutter/heat shield, (his jacket)

Clean off the slag and bingo!

For those inquiring minds, we used 2.0mm rutile GP electrodes which will operate from 24V. Yes you do need 36V to go heavier. A set of heavy duty jumper leads, a set of gloves, a piece of welding glass and a set of vice grips and volia!

Had no problems all the way to Alice Springs, and where a welder put a gusset on it.

My Tuck Truck has a treble battery set up, main battery under the seat powers the bike, the 2 additional ones power the 2 electric fridges, winch, driving lights etc

Like Oz 4WDrivers we learnt that you need at least a dual battery set up if you intend to go seriously outback.

G/day all

I have a few interesting photo's shot from our sidecars, (not of other sidecars), but of bikes, other road users, scenery etc. Not sure if this is the appropriate forum.
What's the collective consensus?
