This sidecar is road legal and was ridden to the event. It was made from a racing outfit and I think the info card it said it was on the road for the last ten years. Looks like fun.

My EML GT3

Here is my little toy. Getting it ready to sell so I can get something offroad capable. Mama says only one hack allowed. I'll miss this one. Hard to say goodbye.

My old EML GT3E. One of the best outfits I ever had. When I think back, I should never have sold it and have kept it as an extra outfit.

Not an American Spirit Eagle, but I believe the body was made from one of their molds.

No, it's an-

Built in the early 70's.

I'm trying to find out more info on the makers, but it looks as if I'll have to travel to Lancaster, TX myself (about a 4-hour ride) and make inquiries amongst the old-timers.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=488403

It's pretty lightweight, think it'll work with an SR500 for secondary road/dirt road duty?

We've got two, but the other is rougher.

Thanks for the interest. I'm still reading stuff on here, trying to learn before I make many stupid mistakes.

Hacking

Hello Feo,
It's the same sidecar I have, also Oregon Thruxton and I think Three Wheel Bonneville have the same one.
I can tell you what I know....The cars began as an American Spirit sidecar,

http://www.scooter-sidecars.com/cate...ers/california
http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-talk...n-sidecar.html
http://www.sidecar.com/megabbs/photos/photo-main.asp

That should get you started. The company was in business for a couple of years then from what I can tell the molds were either sold or stolen and a company called Texas Sidecars sort of absorbed the molds and make what I think you have.
California sidecars
http://www.californiasidecar.com/
makes a quite similar model and I'm not sure if it is a copy or they used the original molds..it is very similar to the American Spirit molds.
The model is called the Spirit Eagle. The various titles have been modified so many times you can find information under a variety of names on Google.
The frames are very light, Oregon Thruxton has added bracing to his, I've not done that yet but will this winter more than likely. Near as I can tell, the car/frame weigh in about 120-140 pounds so they are very lightweight and that should be considered when you choose a tug for them.
I always carry ballast of about 120-130 lbs in mine.
You can see all three of our cars on this site, use the search function.
http://www.newbonnevilleriders.com/f...isplay.php?f=7
IMHO they make a nice car for the bonnevilles and smaller bikes in the 500-800 cc range, I don't think I'd throw one on a big cruiser or BMW.
Please PM me if you need more info, I'll tell you what I know about them.
I looked at one in Houston Texas Craig's list and if that's the one you got ,a word of caution. Do not use the lower front mount pictured on the craigs list post. I had one on mine and installed it but then found out it is not a safe mount and have changed to one from Motorvation Engineering which was better suited and much stronger.

Nice rig you had there. I need to get an adventure rig for an upcoming trip and my GT3 is a victim of spousal influence.

Awful nice pictures Richard, thanks for posting those, really some beautiful rigs at the show...where was it?
I especially liked the silver BMW with the matching car with the rounded nose (not the one looking like a pointy nose) and with a chrome roll bar on it, very nice looking rig, sleek and beautiful lines.....
