it's a bad idea, poorly executed. It handles like a drunken pig. It may be just too much lean out, I need to fuss with it to find out. We had a ton of fun and drove over some challenging terrain, but it was almost unmanageable at times. We drove four hours Saturday, but the only other vehicle we saw was a dirt bike about 30 minutes out. I would not try this in traffic...

Perhaps I will get scolded for suggesting such a thing due to it's impure nature, but what about using telescoping aluminum poles? They could be 1/2 to 1/3 the length of the wood poles during travel and maybe lighter and narrower too.

Just about done with my Dirtster Hack
 . It is a 07 883 Sportster that I am hacking with an home-built / Ural cargo box car. I have had it out without the body on it and she handles great!! Big thanks to DMC for the great mounts.

Claude, The picture of David's was at the restaraunt where we ended up eating and the picture of mine is at the first place we stopped. I still can't get all of that mud off of that thing either.
