Baza, an engineer will want mucho $$$$$ to write a certificate for a single link. Those that build multiples get certificates much cheaper.

The certificate will cover your arse if you ever need to make an insurance claim, especially if it's a CTP personal injury claim.

Exhaust valves and guides were gone, final drive was shot, coils fried, and wring confused.
Now reincarnated as my interpretation of a /2 conversion:

I'm sure the next guy will have a different vision, but it goes pretty well for now.
'67 chassis with '81 RS engine (74hp), kick 5-speed, and Ural s/c.
Finished just in time to take my boy out on his 7th birthday.
He was pleased.

There's more to do, but these projects are never really finished until the day they are passed to the next owner.

I've been thinking about putting the R 90S fairing on my hack, looking at your pics I see it can still look good ( although mine is white like the bike and optically more "intrusive" )

Maybe I'll just put it on to see an feel wether I like it .

Love your hack

Zen Ben, that is one of the nicest conversions I've seen. You've got a good eye. Very tasteful. Superb! Get a trials tread for the car and you're done.
That fairing really fits in with the pinstriping you've done. Very period correct.. sort of. Can't say enough about the rig, such an incredible job. Maybe it just photographs well.
Hows the performance? Outstanding as it looks?

Thanks for the comments.
It goes. I've had a more powerful BMW rig (blueprinted) in years past, but after a certain point, horsepower is less an asset than a liability.
Keeping pace with modern traffic is enough. Wringing the tits off the thing will only produce an early demise, and possibly get you into trouble.

I left the trials tire as a spare, and s/c tire on the hack in order to prevent the chair from having equal traction. IMO: The s/c tire should be able to slip and slide a bit more than the tug.
The Shinko trials tires are pretty grippy, but also a bit wiggly in the treadblocks. The tires were cheap, if not ideal; Better suited to a lighter bike.
Still ironing out a few running niggles, and tuning the rig. I'll be testing the the conversion solo this week. Chances are good that I wont want to put the chair back on.

Indeed a very nicely done conversion Thanks for sharing the pics with us.
We have done quite a few outfits based on / 2's /2 conversions and even later model airheads. These type outfits are exceptional in retaining the vintage look while providing a platform for long distance touring at a decent price in many cases.
Again, great looking outfit!

Thought I would pop a pic up here by way of an intro since it is my first post...

Can't lay claim to any of the build as I bought it as is. Had it for about a year now mainly as a way of avoiding a c@r for the school run, but I can see some family trips in the future.

Looks nice. Yep, the school runs will turn into more. The more you ride it, the more you you want to. It is amazing how fast my kids started taking the rig for granted, though.
