During the Cannonball Run last year for pre 1914 motorcycles, they had "rescue" hacks along for the ride. If your oldie broke down, the hacks were following along, and would pick up the bike, and you'd ride on the pillion to the next checkpoint, or your support team's location. Here are two of the Tow Hacks..

nice classic colors. Leaners are not my thing, but it looks good. Nice neighborhood also, looks like new.

Interesting look, but I sure wouldn't want to ride in it on a wet road with loose gravel....

Not always, there are also leaners with a detachable rod to fix the motor with the sidecar.
