sometimes Charlie gets tired of the wind and will lay down for awhile.
The first time it ever rained on him it was a real downpour that sorta came out of nowhere. before I realized what was happening my 85# chesapeake bay retriever crawled up onto the back part of my dual seat (perched behind me). I was laughing my butt off when I reached around and pushed him back into the hack, and he hasn't done it since. I can't really figure how he could climb up there in a driving rain at 45mph, but he did.

Dog harness
My plan is to take the hound (Beagle) riding with me when I get the sidecar, a Dauntless Enduro, mounted to my Klr. What kind of harness do you use to keep the dog in the car and not leaping out at speed to chase rabbits.
Thanks Bill |

Howdy All,
I am in the process of building a Ural rally rig, here Spot and Newt'ell inspect the cut down hack that will serve as a platform for fuel, tools and other needed gear when its finished.

"What Do I Know" Dept;
Since this former sidecar is cut down so much, would it make sense to turn the whole thing around so the trunk will act like a nose for better wind -uh- dare I say aerodynamics? Depending on what you carry, might put more weight rear-ward, also? Can dachshunds actually climb that high? (thanks to you know who for making me get off my lazy butt and look the spelling of that breed up)

Yes, those little buggers can jump that high, you would be surprised just how athletic these little dogs are. As to the cut down hack, click this link to be taken to the build of this rig, the hack is a whole lot different looking now then when that photo was taken. "The can carrier support bar and the tool box are finished, the sidecar body is starting to take its final shape."
That's all I could find- no body. Unless that wa the end of the story? Looks like a lot of work, for cryin out loud! But the little guys would blow right off- no? Do you take them along?

I am building the CCXCB to be a dedicated off road rally rig, as such I'll not be taking the wee ones along as "Monkeys" when I drive it. The rig is not finished yet but there is very little left to do to the hack body itself.
