Phil is a character. Uma and Phil rode up to Seattle area with me and we had breaklfast this morning. The pair ride up to 20,000 miles a year together. They have been cost to coast many times and last year went down Baja to the bottom of Mexico. The return now has them going through Banff and Calgary.

Richard the dude with the bushy beard in the class was born in the 20's. We were all in awe of his energy and spirit. In the 50's (he called them the Beatnik years) he rode an Indian shafty cost to coast. With a lot of Help from Vernon and the rest of us he passed the class. Now he is planning another coast to coast with a hack. That is the adv spirit

As for lil ole me it was worth the time and money. I learned a ton, did it on adult size bikes from an instructor who 3 wheels every day and had a nice 1000 km adventure. I'll post a report on soon.

Thank You Vernon

We may want to reserve a couple seats for September.
Both the CJ and /2 Conversion should be ready for exercises.
The new driver will want instruction, and an old dog might un-learn a bad habit or two.
Let me know if enrollment starts to look full.

Hi Ben! That would be fun!
Last I checked there were 5 seats left and several people have expressed interest. This is the last class for the season (Sept 19-21) Call Hood River Community Education 5413862055 to get signed up.

My little brother, Andy, is signed up for the September class. He has never ridden motorcycles before so we went up in the woods and I found an open area to practice in and ran him through the first four exercises just to get him familiar with the clutch and the brakes. He did real well! Doesn't look like a beginner with no experience, does he?

This class, coming up September 19-21 will be the last class of the season. I plan on doing some classes next summer but probably won't schedule as many. There are still a few openings for this class-call Hood River Community Ed 5413862055 if you want to get signed up.

Well I finally got off my phat lazy ass and went to the WA dept. of licensing today. Showed them my card from Vernon's class and got me a class 7 endorsement WA 7 is a 2 and 3 wheel endorsement. I already had the 2 wheel endorsement. To answer my own question from earlier OR does not do 3 wheel endorsements so all you need is 2 wheel endorsement. California considers a sidecar a car so you don't need anything more than your cage drivers license in California to be legal. You need Vernon's class to increase the odds of coming home to your loved ones every night. As I found out before the class a 1mph fender scratch on a Honda can cost more than the class

I'll save Vernon the effort of a disclaimer. Graduating his class is not a guarantee of a WA endorsement. But several of us have been treated well by the DOL staff we interacted with. The technical got ya that they can invoke is even though the graduation card is from the exclusive WA state approved vendor the class location is out of state. This minor detail is over looked by some staff but if they want to by OCD about the rules you're SOL
