I've got a Corbin and a stock seat for an R80G/S and a decent stock /7 seat on a good pan.

I'd trade any one of them for a decent /6 specific late model Corbin, preferably in leather.

I'll post pics soon.

tia,
Lornce

Velo and SL,
Last I heard they were no longer available through regular BMW parts channels.
Here's what MAX BMW says:

"46632303905 SLIPSTREAM DEFLECTOR - MARRAKESCH/ROT 1.63 1 NA"

I was fortunate that Pete, the PO, installed the fairing. I was surprised how well it worked to keep the windblast off my chest at highway speeds.

yeah, but that's the painted item. Often parts are still available unpainted.

When i needed one of those last year, all I could find were primed new ones in the states for $$$. Here are a couple of links to reproductions from Europe. The one I got was made of black plastic. They are not as shiny as the original black painted versions but the plastic is colored all the way through so they handle scratches very well. They were a perfect match for my OEM '88 hand guards. Well scratched repro on left. Low mileage original on right. Good Luck.

Good eye. Missed that entirely!

MAX BMW says $167 in prime.

my past experience has been that most painted parts are discontinued, but are still available in primer. It's not cost effective for BMW to try to stock painted parts after a few years. It limits the market for that particular part if it's painted, and raises the price even more.

Thanks to all for the info.BMW Bayer quote 119 Euro and Siebenrock say 99-50 then the cost of shipping and maybe Canada Customs will get in on the act, sometimes they do and other times they don't,can never figure them out.

Funny how these things go...

Way back at the beginning of the R90/6 re-do it came to me in R90S bodywork that needed a proper paint job.

Exhibit A:

But I wanted an R90/6 that looked like a proper R90/6, so I traded the R90S bodywork to a BMW collector/painter for a set of /6 bodywork with a fresh coat of white paint and black pins.

Exibit B:

Now that looks like a proper R90/6, doesn't it?

Enter the Corbin seat dilemma. Was meaning to hang a /6 specific Corbin seat on the bike, but can't really cotton to the way they look. The /7 spec Corbin looks much better to my eye. Not sure why, but Corbin's /6 seat looks like a loaf of bread while the /7 piece looks nice and tidy.

In the mean time a nice S fairing has come back to me after spending the last several years on a buddy's R100/7... I'd actually almost forgotten it was mine... Until he decided to sell his R100/7... Funny how that works, eh.

So now I'm thinking... S fairing... /7 seat nicer than /6 seat... You know where this is going, right? ... You guessed it... The same buddy has made available a nice /7 tank... So, I might just end up with a /7 tank and S fairing (almost the same as the original R90S bodywork )... Just to accomodate a /7 Corbin seat...

I should probably "talk" to someone about this... Or go for a motorcycle ride.

Winters can get long up here.

That /6 looks really nice. Are you still plotting on hacking it?
