Negative, the Mikuni is completely analog. Cut the wires and cap 'em.

There are no wires involved. Understand that the Mikuni pumper is not some marvel of technology, it's a very basic design as far as modern carbs go. The stock Keihin carb is a testament to overthinking engineers, the Mikuni could've been standard equipment on the XR4 to begin with but saving face is a cultural thing in Japan. Like it or not, the exact same Mikuni carb is standard OEM equipment on many Harleys!

thoughts?
97 XR400R Dual sport. This bike has a california plate and is street legal. Bike runs great!! It has a big bore 425 kit on it and an FMF powercore 4 pipe!! The suspension was recently rebuilt by Too Tech suspension with new seals and springs. Bike has acerbis hand gaurds, aftermarket heavy duty skid plate, baja designs folding mirrors, and 1 quart gas/water tank mounted on the bars. Aftermarket bars with 1 inch risers which makes it much easier to stand up when riding! New battery was just installed on the bike. Also the bike has a pouch on the rear fender for storing tools, tubes, info, etc. There is a new front tire on the bike and a brand new rear tire that i will give with the bike that hasnt been put on yet. I just put a new speedo cable on the bike as well. This bike is Fast and Fun!! I have kept up with maintenence regularly. Just did an oil change and cleaned the air filter. Comes with a bike stand!! I have the title in hand!! Asking 1950 lukeinlondon screwed with this post 10-31-2012 at 06:54 PM |

Sounds good, but at that price its either a heck of a deal or looks like hell. California plated 400's in good condition start at about $2400. Also need to find out when it was 1st plated in California. If it was after January 2004 then it better have been plated out of state before coming to Cali. If it was 2004+ and not from out of state, run away.

Still have it. Its a free wheel since you can sell your stocker for the same price on ebay. Didn't think this would last a day at this price.
