Help: CL160 Scrambler Forks

Anyone have any leads on where I can buy a set of forks for a 1966 Honda CL 160 Scrambler? Also, looking for a gas tank.

Thanks for your help.

Question cb160 oil fill line

I was wondering what the proper oil fill line is on a 65 cb160? My manual says between the two top lines. What does that exactly mean? There is a indentation with two raised lines splitting the indentation into three sections. Is the oil fill line between the top raised mark and the top of the indentation(top 3rd section) or is it between two raised marks?

I saw posts for a couple of gas tanks for sale for a CL 160. Anyone still one available? I bought an old CL 160 that I am fixing but am missing a gas tank, any help in finding one would be appreciated. Thanks,

1966 CB160 tire question

Hi Everyone,
I have a 1966 CB160. I learned how to ride on this motorcycle and I am a novice. I am in the process of fixing small things. I have come to tires. I know NOTHING about motorcycle tires and want to replace both the front and rear tires on my bike. Any advice on tire selection, tread pattern etc...?
I attached a pic for you all.

Well, I have put over 1000 miles on my bike now and lost my camera charger.... hence no updates. I did finally borrow a camera so here are some updates. Just need some bar end mirrors now.....

Seat is made from a kids wakeboard and half a sportbike fender......

Hey guys, just a quick note to keep the info on the CB's going. I had run into a problem with charging on my bike, dead battery all the time. I replaced the rectifier with a solid state unit, changed to LED bulbs, still problems. I finally solved it (I hope).

My battery was at fault the whole time. I used a chinese battery... It only had 12.5 vlolts at rest, should have been 13.5. The stator with the new rectifier puts out 13.6 or higher with all the lights on. Now, having gone through the process I also learned that having kicked in the second set of coils on the stator and aking out the incandescent bulb I was also overcharging the battery! The second coil is meant to be used with the lights on all the time only. So, if you rewired your bike becuase you didnthavea key (like I did) make sure you have a good battery, all the lights installed and running when you have the second coil kicked in. I also found a mystery current draw of a few amps with my ignition off so I installed a master battery shut off which I think helped as well. Hope somebody finds this useful.
