In truth, I've found a lot of parts on ebay that are cheaper than other sources. The drawback to ebay is that you can't always rely on the sellers to make things right if they mis-describe something. Most of the established businesses will take care of that sort of thing.

i can agree with the ebay i had checked out most of the sites and they have a lot of good stuff on them. ive been following this thread for a lil while now and all i can say is thanks Cowboy for starting it its reignited my passion for bikes especially when i picked up mine for dang near a steal, i got most of the stuff i needed now in the past week or so and its starting to arrive at my house (where my wife takes pics of the stuff all wrapped up waiting for me)haha i was even given my grandfathers 50s/60s leather jacket(for chirstmas from my wife/mom who had its zippers fixed for me) from when he was a honda mechanic in california in that era. not to mention finally got my brother to rebuild my moms super 90 that had sat outside for the past 20 years not moving. anyways just saying thankyou for providing the source for so much knowledge on these wonderful bikes to everyone.

I am in the process of restoring a 1967 CB160 which the dealer made into a CL160 before it was sold to my father. The bike was white and I am repainting it red and silver. The question I have has to do with the bottom fork tubes and the center stand. I have seen the bottom fork tube in base color which in this case would be red and also in silver. Which one is going to be correct for this application? I have seen the center stand in both base color, again in red, and also in black like the foot pegs. Again which is the correct color for a 1967 CB160 coverted to a CL160?

Thanks for the reply and I will check the bottom forks for type of material. Any thoughts on the center stand? I am really leaning toward the base color and not black like the foot peg bar.
Thanks again for your help. Carle |

This site has been very helpful so far with my restoration. I am working on my 1967 CB160 and am in the need of a really good kick start lever and gear shift lever. The kick start lever I have polished up ok but would like to find a better one. The shift lever is bent and needs to be replaced. Checked ebay and found a better good kick starter but all the gear shift levers where aftermarket. Any help with parts or outlets?
Thanks again for all your help. |

How badly is it bent and why not have the shift lever repaired?
