Here's the guy that owns it. One of the best guys you'll ever meet. He had a bad motorcycle accident a few years ago. He's pretty good now.

that's one reason why i had to mod to jacked up the rear...becoz when you sit,the bike rear just sank....
i intended to saw off the rear mudflap and leave the rear no. plate just like your pal's bandit.but during wet day,the dirt will just fly up to the top rear end of the bike.
i notice a handguard on it.issit AT handguard or the DL1000 handgrd?

Not sure can't tell you.

I know he can put his knees on the footpegs and get his butt off the seat.

I have one too! A 1991 Bandit 400. I bought it last year with 56,000 km on it. It is my first bike, but I LOVE IT so far! I will try to get pictures up, it seems that photobucket is down.

Yours is very nice! I like what you have done with it!

Can you please do me a BIG favour!? See the bracket on the back to mount the topcase....

WHEEEEERE do you get that? Who makes it? I want to get a topcase for my Bandit, but I cant find that ANYWHERE!

PLEASE TELL ME!!!

Hey jonny...great looking bandit too...i've already replied your PM...

thanks for the posting of the bandit with the upside down fork conversion photos on the other thread....that has kept my mind stirred up abit to find a used gsxr front end...

for guys out there who keen to know about the racks as well, its from Givi...the rack in the pict above is previously from my bandit...i have no use of it so i gave it to my friend...its easily available here in Singapore...and it don't cost much if you know where to buy it...not sure if you're able to find it in the GIvi webby...

I hereby resurrect this thread.

I got a titled 1992 GSF400 Bandit in a trade the other day and am debating on fixing it up. I've read that it's a fun, light and revvy bike with a smooth motor and it appears to have a decent amount of spare parts available, though nothing aftermarket, although I've seen rear racks and fairings. My particular example is very dusty, though not actually dirty, and missing a bunch of fairly easy parts (some plastics, carbs and airbox, etc).

Any inmates own/owned one? How would they do as a commuter and light touring bike? I already have read a bit about their performance, but more importantly how is their reliability and maintenance schedule? Mine has 31k on the motor and still has good compression (can't run it with no carbs) and was stored correctly, doesn't appear to have been abused.

Strong points? Weak points? I'm all ears

Wicked

I used to own a bandit 400 10 years ago. A high rev bike with acceptable performances. No major problem when i rode it for 2 years. The carb tends to run out of tune easily and it a must to tune it so tgat it will run smoithly. The rest is just oil , oil filter , tyres and brakes. Tried 190 km/h on my bike. Madness.
