Thanks ADK! I found this bike today while trying to verify you were right, and you were, and found this bike. A Mazzilli, which I don't think is mentioned here.

Actually quite a few bikes I've never heard of here: http://www.isdt.eu/1373.html?*sessio...session*id*val*

I am looking for 580 parts for a 3 speed.
Have a partial engine but likely to start anew engine wise.

Jawa

[
This looks like a Jawa CZ ISDT bottom end (forward kickstart etc) with a different head, frame and plastics etc. The enclosed chain looks identical.
I almost broke my knee when my dad's 360 kicked back. I had a hole where the bolt from the kill switch made a hole in my 10 year old right knee (dad had it on the right). I still have te scars. Actually look closely at the tank. It says Jawa underneath Mazzili

Your right, I'm into Rotax powered bikes, there are so many that were never imported. Portal's come to mind. It can't be a bad bike if its rotax powered!

Anyone priced late 70's Moto Fox CR's with Simons and Fox airs lately?

Pat has.

But the KX's were good. Fast and light.

I was very surprised at the number of this vintage KX (1973-75 ish) at the Mid Ohio Vintage Days MX this past summer. The guys I chatted with claimed parts were easy to find and cheap. There were a lot of them there and going pretty good to boot.

The KX 400 was the runt of the litter in that most people running in the open class were still running European bikes with the odd Suzuki or Yamaha thrown in.

But this could be a works bike, its hard to tell. My money is on stock KX 400.
This is a stock 1975 KX400 with aftermarket shocks and fork boots. Judging by the amount of fork travel, I would guess it has a fork kit installed as well.
