Our Honda 2007 ST1300 is the best bike we've ever had, and we've had some....we bought it as a 2007 holdover after fetching our 96' Goldwing up against a deer in the UP, Michigan, and totaling it (the bike not the deer). Almost totaled us.......

We turned our ST into a camp-tourer with the simple expedient of strapping on poly canoe bags above the sidebags and on the rack, and to the aftermarket backrest for my lovely pillion.....sleeping bags go in the bags on the side, and our tent and mattresses go on the back. We also threw a full length sheepskin over the stock seat, and now do 400-600 miles days. We love it.... did 15 grand the first summer (outa the hospital, that is!)

Deer? In the UP? no way...

One less, I hope....although I hadn't regained consciousness in time to see the damned thing get up and stagger away...... hope it crawled into a bush and died a lonely, painful, and long death..... (I know, I know, irrational....but I now long to pick my teeth with the bones of Bambi's mother!)

I just carried 20# worth of groceries and produce home this afternoon in my GIVI topcase and r. side pannier. I could have stopped by Wal-Mart to purchase a new blender and other sundries on my way home.

I've had my ST up to 105 on the slab and it only felt a bit light on a grooved pavement surface. I had bonafide weaving when I drove my supermoto'd dr650 on IL I-88 past 78 mph. Wasn't a fun feeling when I was zooming past cheese-grater wire guardrails.

It's way deceptively smooth and will track like a rail on curvy roads at +25 above the speed limit before I glance down at the speedometer.

I've traveled around 30K miles in the last 3 years on this bike.

after they built the new bridge, you used to be able to walk across it. that was pretty cool. then the terrorist paranoia put an end to that. they keep a real close eye on that dam.

new ST rider

Love my new 07 ST. Major step up from Viago and even CBR1100XX. I have a question for you "old" ST'ers. How the heck do you ride this ST on gravel? I tried it out to be prepared last week for couple of miles in loose gravel. The most scary experience of my riding. I was all over the place, had to stop for oncoming traffic. Youi have the same experience??

Just the obvious answer: very carefully. My 07 is terrible on gravel as well. I tend to go very slow with my feet extended, ready to catch myself. Amid its many virtues, loose gravel capability is not one of them.

This is from Saturday, I traded my '04 KLR plus some cash for a 1995 ST1100. Just in time for them to lay fresh gravel over the road in front of my house
