Hey - thanks, guys. To be honest, the BMW press pics I saw of this paint scheme really put me off. Couldn't stand it. When I saw it in person, I loved it. The silver color is metallic, but it's a flat paint finish. Really unusual.
I was very, very close to buying a black one at a distant dealer, but Indy BMW had this one on the floor, and while they are a new (BMW) dealer, (they've sold Triumph/Victory for quite awhile) I can't say enough good about the buying experience there. Great guys.

I miss mine. I miss the entry ramps to interstates, dominating Ford Mustangs, traffic light stares, sweeping turns, the complete and utter dominance of the Eisenhower Interstate System.
The sonofabitch made my knee hurt so that I couldn't walk and I need to walk, so I got a GS, which is great but won't run with a RS. I could get another one couldn't I? |

I had to add a set of pegs on the crash bar for longer rides. My knees aren't what they used to be either.

So far, I have one knee that feels stiff if I have been non stop for 2 + hrs That goes away with a few traffic stops or a refill. Other than that I just keep smiling. I have found that I have a tight spot behind my left/shoulder/neck that I have to find some stretches and remedies for. Right now working to find the cause. I think it is the chin up head position but it is much less with windshield low and appears much quicker with it in the high position. Still, I am sooooo pleased with this ride

Hey folks, I have looked through this thread and am just so amazed. The bikes are great but even more so is the passion for them. The new and fresh ones are things to drool over. Love the silver S with blue or yellow. Yet the older RSs, the GTs, the older Ks have appeal as well.. dang they all strike a cord of a rider who is pleased and enjoying the mount that is his. There is affirmation of one another without a gloating attitude of mines this and is better than.... If only the world could do manage to do this what a better place it could be. So guys/girls.. thanks for your positive spirit and support of each other.
Stephen

![]() Damp? This thing makes ME damp. And I'm a guy. Beautiful, beautiful bike. I didn't think they were that clean when they left the factory.

It's not even the lines of the bike.
It's the combination of unheard-of reliability and "does everything well" rideability that makes my nether regions tingle. It's fast as balls, corners like anything, can carry between 2-4 cases of brew and do it all for 600+ miles a day, 2 up..... ......for 200,000+ miles without major work. You'd be hard pressed to find a bike model that can do so much so well for so long.
