I'm not a big K1 fan but I just bought this one on Ebay for $2,325. I think the paint job is pretty cool.
(I couldn't help myself at that price.)

Now all I have to do is take it to my dad's place in SoCal and then ride it up the coast. Life sux.

No kidding. Also this probably marks the first time in history someone has used the terms "K1" and "paint job is pretty cool" in the same paragraph. IMO the paint is over the top by BMW standards, except for the K1.

ETA: If you ride Hwy 1 between Morro Bay/SLO and Monterey on that bike then yes, you do suck.

Why did I ever start looking at this thread.
Never thought I would but I really, really miss my K75C
Rain, snow & even getting backed over by the X-wife that bike just kept chugging along.

I know. I just did the same route on my K11LT last week. 58 ain't chicken scratch either. I did it on Monday afternoon and there was NO traffic.

Hwy 1 just fell into the sea near Rocky Creek. Oh NOOOOooooes!!!!

http://www.ksby.com/news/section-of-...-near-big-sur/

It must be from when I came down from that wheelie I pulled there last Tuesday. Those LTs are heavy bikes you know.

I think I'll be riding through end of March/early April. There's no plate on that bike so I have to transfer title and get a plate before I go pick it up. Working through that though.

Hopefully they have some sort of fix in place on Hwy 1 by then. It's not like CalTrans doesn't have a lot of practice at putting Hwy 1 back together.

I'm a K75 fan. Bought my first one in Oct. 86. I just posted my 94 in the flea market. Don't need two.

Guess i gotta go do 58 then and quit sticking so close to home.

CalTrans gets to play with our section of Hwy 1 alot, too. the last big rains down here closed the road for a short time. But, i think that was just so they wouldnt have to hassle with traffic while working. The damage didnt look all that bad. mostly rocks falling on the road. yours looks much worse!
