I won a $500 gift certificate for a local shop while at a pistol shoot.
And no it definitely wasn't for my accuracy, it was a door prize ![]() I walked back in to the showroom and couldn't for the life of me figure out wtf to get. I have what I need for hunting. I have a .45 1911 I have a daily carry What would be fun to shoot? The reason I pose it like that is the closest range is about 40min away and is PACKED every weekend, so I feel that it needs to be something I'll WANT to shoot for the investment to be worth it. Thoughts?

What to get?
Think about a Ruger SR 22 .22 for quality trigger time. Runs like a big gun and shoots .22's. Use the left over money for .22 rounds

You only listed 2 guns so any gun will work, but I agree that a .22 would be a good rifle to start with along with several thousand rounds of ammo if they have it.
I personally would get a .308 Savage.

When does it expire. I'd hang on to it for a while.

I've heard that from several people.
It's a plastic card, similar to a gift card, so there is no expiration date

Easily trainable

A really nice air rifle and some pellets to feed to it. Then you don't need a range to go shooting

Maybe you don't want/need any gun related stuff, so consider selling it for less than $500 and use the money for something you really want

If there were any .22 to be had anywhere, I'd say that everyone should have one lever-action .22 and one bolt-action .22.
Buy 1/3 of a scope GSG 1911 .22lr has pretty good reviews. 5 Mosin-Nagants 1/6 of a Garand New custom holster for your carry piece Ten new range bags Five hundred one-dollar gift certificates to give to kids/friends for doing something good. 2/35 of a Hagn rifle
