Used 2007 for sale near me...
Local Euro dealer has a 2007 for sale that only has 3700 miles on it. Thinking about running out there to do a test ride to see if I like it. Already love the engine as I have ridden my friends Tuono in the past. Would be mostly for road riding/touring, but would love to be able to tackle gravel and shared use roads in PA and wherever I happen to end up on long distance rides.
Love the 800xc I test rode, but too much money right now for one of those. How easy are parts to find for these? This particular one only has a top box fitted and no side racks or bags right now. Current rides: 1993 DR250SE and modified 2005 Z750S. Would be selling my Z probably to pick up another bike, even though I love it every time I ride it.

I recently bought one and it is quite fun to ride. Mine came with hyper pro springs and it's fine two up, still a little soft for me but ok. Handles very well for a bike with such relaxed geometry and a 19in front wheel. Actually the only problem I had was it drags parts in the curves a lot quicker than I'm used to. I was hanging off the thing and still dragging. Lol
Parts aren't too bad to find from what I've seen so far. Mine came with the topcase and no side bags so I just ordered a set of Givi racks for $200. I'll most likely use my seahorse cases on those racks.

Bought '03 new in Feb '04 and over its 8 years and 25,XXX miles I've done all the mandatory mods plus the LV exhaust, Shoria battery, accessory fuse box, running lights. I can't say it's been 100% love 100% of the time but more so than any bike I've owned. I recently took it across country for 3 weeks and 7300 miles and she was the perfect sultry Italian that you'd expect. The only thing that needed immediate attention on my return was the chain.

Been riding my old high mileage K75s, working on a Guzzi project and want/need another bike.
Yes, I know abit about the Caponord and would have one over a GS, S10, Uly, KTM, etc. With CanAm Spyder production, Rotax engine parts will remain available new.. Yes, it has reverse/5 speed. So, I check utube for new vids of Capo. This guy is a treat. It gets interesting at 1:44. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4DpZEKHKrk |

Cost is a factor for me. Gotta be under $10k cash, all in.
The only KTM 990 I've ridden was a rich friend's 990 Super Enduro. Kinda peaky engine. Rode one Capo on the street for 15 minutes last year and do want one. Room for a comfortable two-up and a heavy flywheeled engine with good mid-range w/catfish map. Forgot his name, it was the same engineer that designed the Rotax and KTM V-twins. He wanted the KTM to be lighter, more compact and powerful... it is but it is not as robust as the Rotax from my research. edit: Check out the GS review on his site. The Greeks do not care much for the Germans, they just want their Euros. :-D OldPete screwed with this post 09-11-2012 at 05:17 PM Reason: noted |

Looks like they sold it already. That didn't last long.

Letting go of a friend is tough. I HAD to sell my '77, 900SS 18 months ago because money was tight at the time. Still in my profile as sold. Gotta remove it.
Being an old retired fart, my reaction time can get abrupt and I really do want a later model with ABS. One of the top mechanics that posts on the Aprilia board lives no more than 15 miles from me. That's good. |

I was able to score a '08 KTM 990 ADV with 10k miles for $8k with bags and bars. It's doable and worth it if doing a lot of off-road.
