Anybody done the Rubicon Trail on 2 wheels?

I don't mean standing your jeep on it's side. I mean on a scooter. Preferably a big one, like an LC8.
I've always thought it would look kinda like this

But with alot of trees.

Got any pictures? This thread is useless without.

Somebody did and posted about it here a few years ago..I forget who it was. If I can find the time I might give it a try this summer.

I wouldn't try it on anything bigger than a 250. If you can't pick it up, Not off its side but up, its too big.

The Ellsworth brothers used to put on a big ride in the 80's, Rubicon Challenge. Used to draw abuot 50 to 60 riders as I recall. Went on a couple of them.

How was it? Do you have any photos? I guess if you did it more than once, it couldn't have been too bad.

Two wheels on the Rubicon?

Yep, did it on a 390 Husky back in the 80's. Lots of boulder hopping.

At the time, the record from the Loon Lake ranger station to Rubicon Springs was 48 minutes and held by the ranger on a KX200...

That was smokin!

It is one of those stupid things I have done. For most anything less than a trials bike the Rubicon is a marathon workout, that borders on the masochistic. It is doable, but you want to do it on a bike you can manhandle and it helps to hbe running thos gummy trials tires. However, I could see where having one of those two wheel drive motorcycles would make a big difference.

Laugh More bone crushers...

As an added thought... This is a real bone buster..

http://www.californiajeeper.com/dusy_ershim/review.htm

We did this about 5 years ago with two highly prepped Range Rovers and a Discovery. None of us got out without body damage.

A trials bike could do it in a day, with a skilled rider.

Good Times!!!

My other companion messed up his bike so bad that he still hasn't been able to get it to run right three years later. I would safely say that it isn't possible on an LC8. I actually think that my XR650R is too big and heavy for the Rubicon. I'd love to do it again, but it would be on a small bike, perhaps a TW200 or something similar. Or maybe a quad. There's a company that does tours of the Rubicon in the summer on quads. Might be a better idea than ruining your LC8 and your body.

I'd like to do the Rubicon and the Dusy trails this summer. I'm spending the month of May riding out of Moab so I should be in shape for these in June or
July-don't know when the snow will.be gone. Probably ride a 400 exc with
13/53 gearing, my rock climbing bike. Anyone wanna go?
