What a great bike
I rode a Valk from DC to Canada about 6 years ago. Solid as a rock. My only complaint was the gas mileage SUCKED when it was all loaded down. I got about 25 MPG going through Montana with the wind and "kind of no speed limit"
I finally sold it because I had too many bikes, but if I had a two car garage ...

What kind of range are they getting out of the interstate tanks?

Mine will range is poor 205 But I'm on fumes ....Both of mine have I/S tanks...
My mate get from about 240 - 260 miles from a tank on his I/S 's He has 2 ... Why do ya ask ??? What are you getting ??? Also if ya keep running the throttle up.. You'll eat up fuel

I had a 97 Tourer that I got rid of in a moment of lunacy. I loved the green/creme color. Would love to have another one but remembered having to fill up a lot. Was thinking about an Interstate or a tourer with the Interstate tank and was curious about the range.

I have a Tourer w/I/S tank...And my other Valk is an I/S.
But both of mine are Trikes so the weight really eats up my fuel consumption.. But my Tourer does get a little better mileage.. But it also has a trigger wheel... The 97 was notorious for bad fuel mileage... As they didn't have all the EPA crap on them and had a tad bit more Horsepower and a bit more toquer... My mate has 2 Tourers.. 97 with a trigger wheel 38 MPG @ 60-70 MPH 98 no trigger wheel 34 MPG .. @ 60 -70 MPH They both have Tourer tanks on them.... Yes he has 4 Valks .. I have 2....

If you're looking for a bit more throttle response, HP, and MPG, look into the Thunder Products dial-a-jet. I put a set on my I/S and was doing > 30MPG pulling a trailer on a 15K trip back in 2009. This little kit makes it easy to adjust the bike for altitude changes, and it fixes that over-lean condition you get when rolling on the throttle at highway speeds in order to pass someone.

Figured I'd ask this here, is anyone here tall and own a valkyrie? I like what I hear about it, and I'm thinking of going from a 09 klr650 to a 97 valk. I'm pretty tall though (6'6") and have heard that the footpegs can't be moved forward because of the big engine. Anyone have an opinion on that or on the leg comfort of the bike?

Valk triple trees
I was digging around in the garage and came across a set of triple trees for a
98 ( I think) Valk. $5 + shipping will make them yours. I have no use for them but just can't bring my self to throw them out. PM me if you want them. |

I'm 5'1" And do not have that problem.. Hell I can't even get close to the ground ... That's why mine are Triked S_Palmer ... Go to the VRCC Classifieds and put them up there.. They should sell...
