Yeah I know .. But Here's one I took a pic of in Washington State

The Story I was told .. The patent on the Name Valkyrie was getting ready to roll off.. So they came out with the Rune.... And called it a Valkyrie...

To may people where afraid of the size of The Valk.. 8' long ..

But a perfectly balanced machine.. Made for the Aging Sport Touring rider...
Who liked that Muscle Bike look..

Joe Boyd who designed The Valkyrie.. Loved the Machine...
But when he died unexpectedly... The Valkyrie that we all love died with him..

Every time I start thinking I want to trade the Valk for a more modern machine, I get the chance to put it on the interstate and run it up to 80 or so (red-lining through 3rd).

That beast is just so damned happy at 80+... and sounds just plain angry when shifting at 6K rpm on its way there.

I can't let it go. (Unless someone wanted to trade me an interstate... )

I put a set of Thunder Dial-A-Jet's on mine, and now that the overly-lean condition is gone it's got extra HP and response, so rolling it through the gears has become an out-of-this-world experience!

99 Valkyrie

I finally have my Valkyrie. After many years of wanting one, the opportunity to trade into one finally happened. Strangely enough, it happened right here on ADV! I am going to be making some changes. The Cobras are coming off and OEM going back on. I am also thinking about selling the Beetle Bags and side covers. I want to go with a more traditional look or maybe get some leather type bags. Anyway, here she is as she sits.

I have replaced the seats with a newer 4 piece set of Corbins. I really like these seats. I can ride all day long with no issues. Couldn't do that on the Goldwing! I've also replaced the old OEM windscreen with a new vented Clearview Shield. Can't decide on the car tire. It seems very wide to me, I may go back to a MC tire or try to find a good 195 wide tire.

Anyway, my long suffering wait is over and I really like this bike. It is a blast up in the mountains and can carve those curves quite nicely.

The same for me. I've always wanted one too. Mine looks just like yours but it's completely stock.

I don't like the bars. I'm looking at some straighter bars without all the pullback.

I'm getting 42 mpg.

I want a center stand.
