One concern with the center stand is if you grind your pegs, the stand could get in the way and contribute to an accident.

Every Rune Owner I've ever heard said it was a great riding machine.
Not everyone digs the looks but like any bike, when you're actually riding it you're not looking at it.
I like the looks of my Valkyrie standard but if a Rune could be had in the same price range I'd probably have that.
Rune = Valkyrie+

YES !!! If you are a runner .. DO NOT put a center stand on your Valk !!!
The thing will spin you around !!

But if you are not a runner in the twisties and live on the flat lands...
go for it...

IMHO And Highbinders who will NEVER use one... We know to many people who ran hard and hit them stands.. As soon as they got home they pulled them off...

I'll add one more thing ... We who will not use centerstands... live in the motorcycle play grounds.. The Snake~DealsGap~Back of the Dragon~The Hellbender...And so on... So hard switch backs are a problem with centerstands... As I said I have to many Valk riding buddies that pulled the centerstands off.. As they DO NOT give in a hard run... As do pegs that are made to give ... And the sidestand also gives a little...

PS ... Highbinder and the others have had there Valks for over 10 yrs...

Have any of you ever put any different bars on your Valk?

I think I would like some straighter bars with less pullback.

I have a '97 Tourer and have had a center-stand on it for many years. My pegs scrape well before the stand does, and I'm an avid corner carver!

I love the stand when doing maintenence, parking stability, tire inspection, etc.

I say get one, you won't regret it!!

I'm trying to find one.

There is a guy here that has one but his parts bike is sitting on it.

I like the UJM bars. Getting them from the junkyard.......

Anybody have a stand for sale?

Wink Rivco

I guess Rivco stopped making the centerstand.
Maybe you can mod a stand that they sell.

Yeah, they quit making them.
You could mod a Gold Wing stand but the problem is the mount. There isn't one on the Valk.
I just put some straighter UJM bars on. They are awesome.

Just picked this one up last week, a '98 standard w/13,000 miles. The previous owner had a lot of carb work done since they were gummed up when he got it. Runs great and is a hoot to ride.

Pissed

Honda was crazy NOT to make an 1800 Valkyrie.
Instead they gave us the wonderful VTX1800 that was of course a big flop. {'cause it's top heavy,not the good kind}
Now they don't make that either.
They want me to buy a Gold Wing.
I don't want a Gold Wing.
So Honda,you have lost TWO sales since making your informed decision I have bought a Yamaha & a Kawasaki.

Thanks Tracy!

What surprises me the most is how well it pulls from super low rpms. Slowing for small town speed limits I don't have to downshift if I don't catch a light. Smooth!

This is the first bike I've owned that I'm really comfortable carrying a passenger, it seems to handle it so well and feels confident once rolling.
