Well how about that.... Can't be leave I found a Valk thead on ADV.

Well I got mine in Oct of 07, I flew out to Reno and drove it over 2900 miles back to the flat land of central Il..

Yesterday my wife and I went cruising for about 3.5 hours and today we went out to do the weekly shopping on it. I'll have to find put one of my pics on here later.
Since we have owned it we have put almost 8,000 miles on it.
Oh yea, It's a 99 Interstate, black.
I'll see you all on the road......

That one of the best things about a Valk. You dont have to deck it out for it to stand out. Also you dont have to mortgage the house or sell off the kids to be able to afford one.

Every time I start the Valk my heart races. My pupils dilate, I can't act serious and my bride say's something like "BOYS!"

I just walked back in from the garage and since I still can't ride for this year, my heart is racing, the beer is flowing nicely and I am a kids for awhile again. I really like this scoot.

On a serious note. I have a question. Carburetors,,,How much trouble do they create in older Valks? What is the best preventative maintenance on them?

Run SeaFoam in the gas for cleaning and storage.

Carbs

I run seafoam throught mine about every month. The only problem I have had was at high altitude. The bike doesn't like it and runs poorly. Got better after I desmogged it.

Yes to sea-foam.... We/I use it all the time... I keep a little bottle with me , and will give the Valk a sip on road trips...
Funny my Beast likes high altitudes.. So does my mates I/S... And I'm talking Pikes-Peak, Monarch Pass, Wolf creek pass, Mt. Evans...
Both Valks ran great !!!

Sometimes a dirty air filter will make a Valk not like altitudes....
That might have been the problem at first... But now that you desmogged it..
We run K&N Air filters...

Also stabil for the long storage in a full gas tank helps too.... It will help keep gas fresher...

Ah yes ... When you turn your Valk on does it return the favor ???
YOU BET IT DOES !!!

Tell your bride~ it's not just a guy thing ....

I use my bike for all kinds of things.. As I said once before it's a primary vehicle..

They fly and breath fire !!! Hence Dragons !!!!

I think the RUNE (Valkyrie) was a complete flop. To retro and far afield from what the Valk really was. Going back to a standard might have been an even bigger marketing error to them. Shame.

Yes she (my bride) does love the Valk as long as she doesn't have to ride it. You see I was a bit too aggressive on our ride to Dawson City last summer. The frost heaved roads are quite bumpy and every now and then a real butt buster arrives (of course unannounced). I got speeding along far faster than was comfortable for her and after arriving home she decided I would sell it. Well my second option (for me) was removal of her seat. Now she just rides the back of the BMW and she is still smiling and looking

forward to our rides. Plus the Valk is all mine!

Seafoam, NAPA?

Yes ~Napa.. They might have it a little pricey....Any auto store.. And Farm and fleet .. Sometimes a Wally World will have it...

Honda had to bring The Rune in ... The patten name for the name Valkyrie was coming up ... Now this is what I was told... And they needed to keep the name so they came up with the Valkyrie Rune.. Just to keep the name..

They did the same thing with the Saber... The new Saber Shadow didn't look anything like the old V45/V65 Sabers...
