ATTN ZUMO users who use earbuds & need a mic only
Trying to find a microphone only was next to impossible. I Love my Shure E3c's and couldn't get myself to butcher a complete headphone set just to get a mic.. Well I spoke to Ed at Edsets and he made a custom cable a couple times for some Zumo guys in the same predicament. I just ordered one and he made it a standard item on the website now under "Zumo Microphone For Helmet" you can order a surface mount mic or a boom.
finally can use my bluetoothhttp://www.edsets.com/?af=bailey Will post results after I get it. standard disclaimers apply, I never used Edsets before and have no affiliation YMMV Joe

I ordered one from him about a month ago. After several e-mails back and forth, we got it sorted. Here's the one I ordered.
![]() Surface mount, 2.5mm mono male end, 6 foot length. In the garage with the bike running (no test riding yet...the weather is shit right now) it sounds good. As soon as the weather clears a bit I'll give it a proper test.

Cool I ordered the tab mount boom mic. We'll have a review on both styles!

Ok the microphone itself is first rate. Nice quality feels sturdy. And it's bigger then I expected. I ordered the Tab mounted version. I ships with a wind sock and a velcro pad to mount it too. I didn't need it. I just removed my left side cheek pad, put my helmet on, held the mic in place and moved it in or out until I was happy with the location. then snapped down my cheek pad and it's not going anywhere. Real nice quality goose neck moves up and away very nice and seems like it will take that repetitive motion for a long time to come. The molex connector is right under the left side of my helmet now. I can easily snap the mic cord in and out. The cord was not long enough to run down your jacket then under tank bag and into cradle without seriously restricting your saddle movement (ie no standing) So I will probably make a semi permanent cord with a 2.5mm jack on the cradle end and run it neatly into my 950's glove box and just leave a female socket hanging out like I do now with the audio out for my Shure E3C earplugs. Ok call quality. The mic when right on your lips when inside the helmet is totally incoherent. I called my answering machine in the house and couldn't understand a word. Ok helemt flip up, mic away about an inch from my mouth ...perfect! sounded great. Doesn;t help for in helmet calls though. So my sister was my guinea pig. I would move mic around inside the helemt as I spoke and also rode at different speeds. Some results were good some were bad. I think part of the blame is my phone itself it's a Verizon waterproof flip(the G'eez or gezz or Giz LOL) and the bluetooth always connects and never drops but thats it. no phone book loads or anything else. I suspect its the weak link. Also the call audio was dropping out and I had to ask my sister to repeat what she said a few times as I rode. I also made a voicemail to a buddy's cell and he couldn't understand a word I said. I was going 60 mph or so when I made it. So I think a Motorola phone or one tested that loads everything and has a strong bluetooth output will fair better. For stopping by the road and making a quick call or being at a stop light and making a quick call its awesome. Results are still out though and until I get a new phone I won't really be making to many at speed in helmet calls. YMMV Joe

I have a Caberg Justissimo GT and I assumed the tab mount would work out, and it did! (phew) Not familiar with your helmet so I can't recommend which one for you. IF yours is like mine in that the cheek pads snap on I was able to lay the tab under the pad lay the short molex wire down so it hung where I wanted it too and then snap the pad back on. The surface mount seems so permanent and looked like I would have had too carve it into the chin pad area so that was out. Just look at your own helmet you'll be able to determine which one.

Thanks.
But my problem is now a little of your language, so I don't know what the "tab" in tabmount is. Any pictures of it?? |

Thanks. I missed that one (and pictures tell better stories). As for the language; I am Dutch, but am able to understand 99% of your language. This one was the 1% bit
