Not that you are going to find them (I wish you the best of luck on this one), but considering they started in 1985 with a 650 Pantah, and finished in the late 90s with the 900i.e. with a 750 in between, model year along with displacement would probably be helpful....

Hi Kurt, Nice Looking Elefant,

I've got a Corbin seat on my '94, a very comfy upgrade.
New here also, and still trying to post a pic.

I have tried and the parts are no longer available. I have talked to C&H in Italy and they are no help. The only way to do it is to custom build your own. You will need to mod the swing arm, find an ohlins rear, have a new bottom shock link made. Find a set of front marzocs.... Once you have done that then the rest is easy.

Oh yeah then you need to make the custom skid plate and mounts.

Find a set of good usd 45mm showas from a honda dirt bike. Combine your forks with the internals and sliders from the honda. Get a custom shock made from technoflex , or anyone else, that is 1 inch longer and you will have a similar bike. Dont froget to lengthen the kick stand too.

The rear sub and other bits you can custom make.

Airbox mod

Just found this link. Looks like a simple enough fix for those who need it.

I think my bike had that set up on it at one time. Stiil have the K/N air filters in a box. The PO decided to replace the "air box" back on the bike with a few extra holes and a flat panel K/N air filter.

From what I understand from reading on the Elefant forums this set up was a bit troublesome to get the jetting set up for it and the after market exhaust. I have really never have had a problem changing out jets for the area's I ride myself...............just a little trail and error.
I can see going threw a knee high stream would be a no no though! But then again these really are desert bikes.

But all info is a good thing.

OK, I hate being new guy at an old forum because I know all questions have been asked and answered, I am supposed to search first and read thousands of replies, BUUUUUT, I'm just gonna ask anyway.
Any section here that shows detailed routine maintenance, or pic based step by step stuff for things like removing the tank, changing plugs, shimming the valves, etc? I want to do my own work but I hate the " pull this bolt? Dammit not that one" process. Also a link to the plug and play wiring upgrade would be appreciated. Thanks a billion.
Mike.

HID headlight kits

Hi all- Paul from Australia, i have a 1990 900ie elefant and was wondering if there's a HID headlight kit that will fit this bike that someone out there would recomend?
Yep the ol' "fit 65wt bulbs and the battery goes flat after extended running trick!!"
Can i fit a generic Chinese HID kit and hope for the best?
Thanks in advance Paul
