I certainly don't want anybody to be afraid to post a link to a non-advrider/HU ride report/blog thingy. Like right now, cu260r6 seems to have a blog... somewhere. I get it's a heck of a read. But I have no idea where it is!

When I click on it, it sends me to a marketing site and my anti-spyware software kicks in.

Meanwhile, I re-noticed this Vagamoto's blog. You have to click around, and I can't find anything other than a link to his book. Maybe somebody can buy a copy and then tell us if it's worth reading. The link says "Africa" but he started on a bicycle in Alaska, then a motorcycle, and then over to Capetown and up Africa. I don't know where he is now.

Hoping not to offend to many but my thoughts are:

1. You're welcome to post your non-ADV/HU links to your rides here for other inmates to follow. Thanks to Bananaman for getting this thread started. I think it was a great idea.

2. My summary will include only links to ADV/HU ride reports. This is just a volunteer effort on my part and I can be pretty sure that the ADV/HU links will remain constant. Not so with other links as we've found out.

So, I'll keep updating my summary but everyone is wecome to add links to non-ADV/HU sites here. I've even added a few myself. You just have to do a little more digging to find them.

And, here's another link to a new RR: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550869 - themanfrommars turns 40, gets a new F800GS and heads to Baja. What better way to have a mid-life crisis?

Your work is awesome. The only thing I'd ask for, in addition, is another ride report of your own. I'd even be happy if you wrote up something from back when you used to ride a coal/steam powerd bike.

Just want to say thank you for having our ride report on your list. It is an honor to be there. Heading to Bolivia and Peru tomorrow.... so I will add to the report.... And, God Willing, Sandy and I will finish up our travels up the northern coast of Brazil (once the 401 recovers a bit). Our report will not be complete until the day I die!


My love of South America is what drives me everyday!


The countries, the people, their music and their foods are constantly on my mine. It is an obsession... I drink Malbec from Argentina and Chile. I give the grandkids Inca Cola from Peru. I draw the line at eating Coy (hampster!).

I was planning on doing a new ride report, though something different. I was heading to Europe for 6 weeks and have a friend with an 1100GS who was going to let me ride it around Europe.

THEN, I did my taxes. Holy shit! I should have done them before I bought my plane ticket. Had to cancel my ticket and plans for Europe.

Now, I'm planning on flying to Mazatlan for a couple of weeks as sort of a consolation prize. I'm trying to find a place to rent a bike for a few days while I'm down there and might have a mini RR coming up. If that doesn't work, I'll just head for the beach and watch all the topless sunbathers getting some rays. Of course, that report will have to be in Jo momma.

I exchanged a couple of PMs with candohome. It turns out that his domain name got stolen (bought by another company when he didn't renew it according to whatever lame-ass renewal deadline set up by the hosting company) and he needs to wait a year to be able to buy his own name back.

He can't come to the rallye, either. It seems that he's busy, riding in Ecuador.
