i actually find clubmans to be quite comfy, but opinions vary for sure. on my V50 guzzi they are awesome, i can rest my elbows on my knees...

but i also have a Paul Smart, so everything is comfy in comparison

Here's a 1966 60cc Allstate (made by PUCH) that I sold a couple of years ago. It was completely original, even with the original Continental tires. The grips and footpegs were not scratched; it had never fallen over...

I bought a Sears 106 at the auvtion at vintage days ,Mid-Ohio, years ago.It was complete put somewhat neglected. I had several people show intrest in it as I pushed it from the aution tent, across the bridge and down into the garages to # 22.
I sort of fell out of love with as I pushed because the rear tire was very low and the front was flat. To anyone that expressed intrest , I offered it up for sale. No takers.
In the pits I blew up the tires and front tube was shot so a quick tour of the swapmeet netted the nessesary tube. I cleaned the carb and flushed the tank and checked for spark.
In short order the tire was fixed ,the bike was running and as a bonus the lights and horn all worked!
The bad news was when I rode it there was a steady knock from the bottom end. And the warmer it got the louder the knock.
The big end bearing in these motors is a bushing and this one was done.When I changed the oil it looked not unlike copper grease. It sits waiting for me to get intrested again.

I had a Sears 60cc Puch also. Mine was a 62 or 63. It was red. Bought the summer after sophomore year of h.s. with paper route $.
I liked the bike, but hated the transmission (3 speed). Fun offroad.
The Honda sport 50 with a 4spd. became available around the same time and was pretty much bullet proof.
The scene was about to change real fast.

I just brought this home from Tea, South Dakota. It has 962 miles on it and runs and drives. I know this is an old thread, but this bike is special to me because my dad helped my older brother and I buy one brand new. A Sears 106SS was the first bike that I owned or drove........
The one that I owned had a blue tank, and I would love to find the paint code to turn the tank on this one blue. Can anyone help?

1965 Sears Gilera 106SS

I bought this ones twin at the J.Wood auction at Vintage Days one year.
I pushed it from the auction tent back to our pit , flat tire on the front and all. I tried to resell it to anyone that showed intrest but, found no takers.
Back in the pits the tools came out and I found it had spark. So, I cleaned the carb and found a tube at the Swap Meet and it ran and the lights worked. I was feeling good until on the test ride , I found out the warmer it got the louder the knock from the lower end became.
This was the base model , built to a price version of a Gilera. No roller bearing in the big end, they put a bronze bush in and called it good.
After another ride I pulled the left side cove off the motor and the oil galley was full of this grey ,oil-metal mixture with bronze bits in it.
I still have the bike. One day I'll either try to find a new big end set or I may put in the N.O.S. Honda 125 ,6 speed single I have.

My first scooter was a 1955 Sears Allstate Cruisaire made by Vespa. I got it in 1958. I was 14 at the time. I wore it out and rebuilt it and rode it some more. I have many fond memories of that first scooter.

I wanted a Cushman Eagle but we couldn't afford one. I really don't know how my dad had the money for the Allstate.

As a kid I remember drooling over motorbikes and go-carts in the Sears & Montgomery Wards Catalogs.

Good to see these things still getting some love. One like this took this 15 y/o all over Florida until I got a CB350 for HS graduation (Thanks Mom and Dad!).

No battery, just a magneto. Horn & Lights? Maybe if you kept the rpm's up. Turn Signals? Left arm, thank you very much.

There's still a soft spot in my heart for them.

That was my first bike when I was a kid, a Sears Cheyenne 60. The pictures bring back a lot of memories. I got to see one up close a couple years ago at Mid Ohio Vintage Days. Thanks for posting pictures.
