sounds good, man. Appreciate your work in the medical field, I could never do it.

Thanks for the beer and pizza from me as wel, guys. I'm not sure who sprung for the beer. Thanks!

I put oil in my forks last night- they seem to be holding. Bought a new exhaust gasket (shaddup Gregg!) and will be installing it and wrapping the headerpipe-- it gets a wee bit warm-- soon. I have to wonder if there was ever oil in the forks when the bike was delivered, as they're not leaking and they were pretty much dry. I'm going to keep my eyes out for a rear shock to go through and Sasquatch-ify.

Sorry I forgot to say that too. BIG thanks to whoever sprung for the brewskis and pizza.

JATO- that's weird about your forks. I'd imagine having oil in there makes a HUGE difference. There's no telling what you'll find when you dig into used bikes. One of the fork legs in my Ascot must have had the original fork oil in it the first time I changed it- there was some major funk in there.

Fox- somehow it didn't hit me you were a railroader. I worked for NS for a couple of years, but WAY up in Ohio. Too cold for anybody raised in the lowcountry. I pretty much do the 11 PM/5 AM thing too. REALLY looking forward to the day when I can pitch my clock radio.

I'd love to have a stable schedule. Even if it was 2300-0600.

About every week, my hours stand on-end. I have another week of this 0600-1400 shite, then I'm off to 2200-0600. Yay.

Worst hours I ever worked was a rotating shift when I worked for the railroad. Wednesday 8-5 PM. Thursday & Friday 4:30-midnight. Saturday & Sunday midnight to 8 AM. After 2 weeks of that I'd be a zombie.

Hey, let's face it, anything that keeps us from riding, work included, just sucks.

Dave I see your still alive but your typing skills leave a lot to be desired. "kind of like my spelling skills".

Friday me and Rob are headed north and may pass close to your house what are you working Friday?
we were thinking about kind of drifting north along the parkway up around Pineville and beyond on Saturday then Sunday head home.

1973 BMW R70 W/ Sidecar

Hey guys,

good morning! I am almost positive from many of our conversations on wednessday , that some one mentioned looking for a bike with a side car. I have seen this bike in person, here in town Charleston off hwy 17 at American Biker. It looks really good. Thought it was (BOB) but I was not sure. Anyway, here is something of a beauty to look at. Don't know how much off-roading if just a plain meadow she could do.

later....

I would LOVE to have that. However, I really need to spend that $$ on my Jeep and Blazer at the mo..

A Ural may be in the future for me I have wanted one for a while now.
I just like the idea of 2 wheel drive on a side care bike

sidecar rig

Wow, I'd love a Hack as a second bike. I've always liked the idea of a 1200 GS with a Ural sidecar attached. I've seen a couple around, and want one more every time.

next dinner

Hi, guys,

OK, Jafo, here's my suggestion for our next Charleston-Area ADV Dinner. In keeping with the "second Wednesday" theme, we should meet on July 9th, at 1900 here: http://charleston.citysearch.com/pro...k_s_place.html

Breck's Place, 8510 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. It's roughly across the street from the K-Mart on Rivers, heading towards Goose Creek.

Again, as always, I'll be there if I'm not traveling for business, and hope that all'a'yall will, too.

Rob

Thanks Rob.

It's worth noting that I recall your saying they only take cash. So those of us who live on the debit card will have to hit the ATM for some of that wierd green stuff...
