Gods of Darkness Defeated
As a motorcyclist and more importantly a "woods rider" I am a little more in tune with our environment than most non riders. Like the ancients (yes I know I am almost one) I have observed that "Too Stroak" the god of evil and darkness has lost the annual battle with "For Strike" the god of light and twisty trails, and that the days are getting longer. Almost 1/2 hour longer that before the epic battle just before Christmas. I love it.
Like the ancient tribes around the world take time to gather and celebrate the new longer days, so too is it appropriate that we also celebrate the longer days by gatherings of our own tribes. While I cannot make the gathering this weekend I would ask that you remember me and those missing in action when you toast, as I am sure you will, the woods gods who will return us all to longer days and warmer weather. Have fun, be safe and Roost On!!! The almost ancient one. |

I've been watching it on VS channel. I hate that Jonah Street got hurt. Atleast he can say that he won a stage of the Dakar with his own money.

Anyone ridin tomorrow? I've been a lurker here for a while and it seems like my weekends are always jampacked with family stuff. I was suposed to go ridin with some buddies on 2 smokes but everyone backed out
, so now I will probably go cruzin around Eglin. Would love some company (I don't know the trails at all, minus the dirt roads) Or if someone could point me in the right direction to find some good riding I would apprciate it.

Welcome Rigger,
One note about Eglin, there arent any "trails" we ride the numbered fire roads. Thats our story an we're stickin to it! But seriously, blastin the jeep trails is the main attraction in Eglin - theres not much for singletrack there. Blackwater has some more trail-y stuff. I suppose youve already got yer Eglin range permit? I see yer sportin the DRZ, mark another one down for 'zooki, Inept! Where ya'll gonna ride them smokers? Madhouse, Ive got one question - why the hell are the bleachers empty!??!

Got all the required legal stuff to keep the man off my back. We were going to go to the Escambia track or go ride Walton Plantation. No "trails" guess this morning will turn out to be a "scouting" expedition for deer huntin next weekend. That will be my story for the day!

Thanks for the Pic
Madhouse,
You made my day!!! Love it, I mean, them! Can you imagine how impossible it would be to ride in FRONT of them? Even if you used your mirrors you would never look at the road. Just a happy thought. |

Ride today!
Wecome Rigger.
Two or three of us of thinking of riding Eglin later today for a few hours. We live in Ft Walton and will hit Eglin at Timber Creek and ride north of Field 4. Should be good riding today. If anyone is interested in joining us let me know and we can set time and place. |

Black River riding?
Pat & I are still down at TdA below Talahassee, but plan to run along the coast and up to Black River SP in a couple days.
Any dirt recommendations for a yankee unfamiliar with the area?
