Laugh Loggy Bottom Enduro mylar scoresheet from 1978

Cool!

I was up in the attic searching for something else and found this:

Got 1st place in the 0-200cc "B" class on a Suzuki PE 175 at the Loggy Bottom Enduro in 1978 put on by the Gulf Coast Sandblasters.

Pissed off a bunch of "B" riders that were racing the series.
"Who is this fella and where did he come from?"

Is it bragging if you can back up your mouth?

Never had the opportunity to try enduros. Read about them a lot. Nice job!

OK since Madhouse was braggin'... my turn;

Haven't shot any organized events since 2003, then I decided to try an Appleseed Shoot this past February.
Shot what the coordinators believe was the 1st "Perfect" AQT in the nation that day. Used peep sights. Got lucky I guess.

Me far left. Dave (4th from left) talked me into trying it out.

i think i may have popped my shoulder out of socket?
anyway i rode around that area and all trails are closed with the same orange cable and 6"x6" post. i went 87 north to the crater area and dozers and graders are all over , there is no more mystery crater! it's gone/filled in.
i spoke to a guy on the grader and was told that the 7th army group has taken that whole east side of hwy.87 and will be closed to all from now on!
that is all
fbm
FBM, I hope your shoulder gets better soon. Thanks for the heads-up on the closing with those cables across the trails! I sure hope that this changes and that great area isn't gone forever to our group!

This was shot last weekend on the 4 wheeler section going down to the clay pit that will need working on in the future. As you can see the trails are hard to follow as they are and need ridden in and trimming.

Yes i took a hard header into one of those gulleys, knee still hurts

Those PAR doods are Shooters!

Kevin, Kip and I met up for the Military Service Rifle competiton this morning.

A few sight-in shots:

And its over to range 2 for the sign-in and safety briefing.

Lots of fun.
Kevin got a new FN-FAL and did real good for the first time out.
No suprise,,Kip about kept ALL shots in the 10 ring with his AR-15.
I did OK with the AR-15 and M1 Garand.

Offered Kip the opportunity to shoot my M1 Garand and he gave it a go.
OUTSHOT me terribly with my own weapon!
Again, I'm not suprised.
The day ended up with Kip getting a 1st place in the post Vietnam Class with his AR-15 and another 1st place in the WWII class with my Garand.

I managed to snag a 1st place in the Korean/Vietnam class with my AR-15.

Kips targets.

The next meeting for the OHV will be Aug 15 at the Oval office restaurant on 4241 Avalon Blvd Milton @ 1830. If we would all like a safe place to ride free from closures that we may control come to the meeting and lend a hand.
I rode whiting field trails early this am and yes they do need lots more ride time on them. I would have stayed longer, but I just can't handle this freakin heat! I think when it is all said and done and we can whip the construction people in shape, this will be a great OHV park. Several different types of trails for various types of riders.

i can't help but think had the trail been closed two or three weeks ago when there was 6-7 of us riders someone would have been hurt for sure.
what i'm saying is no more tight train rides for me after this, i if i was leading would have been crushed by the guys behind me for sure theres no way 6-7 guys could have stopped without a serious problem.
i consider myself very lucky and wanted to let you other riders understand how serious it can get riding too close.
i know some of you don't care , but i was lucky . learn from my close call.
i will heal up in time and be back out again , smarter and i guess slower?
later,

@FBM: Good point man. ^ Glad you were able to walk away from it. I had already been doing some thinking about this type scenario. Some of us ride like we are on a race course, i.e. as if it's a clear track ahead, with obstacles/challenges that a reasonably skilled rider should be able to navigate. AND that ain't the case when and where we are riding. I am as guilty as they come on this...

me alone i was able to get stopped in time but only by full front and rear brakes and then laying it down, i still hit the 6x6 pretty hard, i didn't realize how hard until i looked in the mirror last night, my face is bruised and my left shoulder is bruised as well.
