You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

I might be down for Sunday...as long as my back heals properly...but not for a dedicated day at Mossy, maybe a little sprinkling of it and the rest at Spec would be cool.

Well this noob would love to hit the dirt.. if he could ever either be not working or doing calculus and physics. Its taken me a number of weeks just to get the NSU on my DR sorted and swap the stator cover. Eventually when its freezing cold and noone wants to ride, ill be ready

I've heard of some people putting different springs in to get to the middle number. 46 and a 48 gets the 47???

(I have to get over the fact that some heathens took advantage my little cutie pie while she was indisposed. Scalawags!! )

I will be riding somewhere this weekend, probably wherever is the LEAST dusty, as no rain in the forecast for a while...

Hey fellas.

I just moved back to south eastern Alabama, looking for a new group to ride with. Been lurking on your thread off and on for a little bit. Looks like most of you ride a 530 EXC or similar bike, is that true? I mainly ride a 990 R, been up and down passes in Colorado and New Mexico, lots of high speed dirt roads everywhere else with it, not afraid of dropping it...but it's not the best in the deep sand stuff that is around here. I can get to P-Cola in a couple of hours, worth the commute to me if you guys are riding some good stuff. I've been looking at picking up a 450/500/530 EXC pretty soon.

I guess my question is, does non-sand offroad exist around here ? Do your rides usually stay dirt, paved, or a mix?

Thanks, be seeing you.

I wouldn't mind doing some Mossy but since my new suspension set up favors some speed vice turning, I would like a mix of terrain as Ian alluded to... but don't make plans around me. I am going out to get re-acquainted this new little hussie thang one way or another...

You are a bike PIMP!!! Much respect - Too bad you let this happened to your "hussie" without getting paid for it. So, is that a Ducati or a Triumph, I'm guessing a Speed Triple...

Welcome to the madhouse...

We have all kinds if rides here. Some are pure street (Beast Rides) and some are mostly dirt with some pavement. We have some who like to explore with moderate speed.

What you see brewing for Sunday is what we call a "fast burn" ride. Mostly 530EXCs and other dirt bike types. These rides cover the worst Eglin and Blackwater have to offer and are not for the faint of heart. We however NEVER go over the posted speed limits...

You best bet is to join us with one of the Beast rides through Blackwater. There are gravel roads and forest service roads that will handle the 990. We are in the process of have a big BMW event that will cover both twisties and easy off road.

You might want to read Post #2 which will give you some more info on rides and meeting spots.

I may be doing some weekday Beast riding at Blackwater next week if you can make it then.
