Just read that KTM has already stopped production of the 990 Adventures,so the 990 Superduke will end to. To make way for the New 1190 Adventures.
So if you wont a 990 better get one now.

Rule #1: Never stop on a hill
Rule #2: Never go slow up a hill (if you do revert back to Rule #1)

Smokies Ride Report

Everyone is gonna be posting similar reports over the next few weekends.. here is Phil's and mine.

Left Friday afternoon and rode three hours up back roads to Troy where we stayed Friday. Saturday was beautiful and we took a long backroads only trip to Murphy NC. Night two - all great so far.

Plans for day three (Sunday)... doesnt matter - it turned to shit. Rain and cold. Real cold.

We rode any way...

So here are the obligatory pics at the Dragons Tail. Notice the lovely weather.

We rode the Dragons Tail anyway! It was not fun. A waste of time cause it was so rainy and of couse WE are not wet riders.
We went along the Foothills Parkway - nothing was visible on any overlook...

By the time we go to Townsend we were wipped. Found a fantastic Cabin for the night and held up there until 11AM the next morning and still it was rainding. We left anyway.

Froze (even with good rain gear) and headed SOUTH for dry and warn weather. Spent the night north of Atlanta and had a beautiful ride home today....

I am really sorry it rainded on our parade...I have always loved the Smoky's - this was may worst trip ever!

Of course nothing like a father son outing no matter what the conditions.

Also need to report no issues with either bike. Phil started leaking some oil but nothing major.
And no other issues or mishaps except for one small pucker sucker by Phil ( I didnt see it but I heard it on the two way).

Hope the weather if fantastic for Barbers next weekend...
Everyone be safe out there.

WR and Barney - Where are you?

Damn Vic! I'm sorry to hear about your trip.

As Brett said we are in Blairsville tonight. We did right at 230 miles today and 75% or better was pavement (but through awesome scenery). The other 25% was through some very fun (and challenging) rocky dirt trails along ridge lines . I was absolutely fried by Ellijay but we pressed on. This is where the most fun stuff really started in earnest.

The 530 is NOT the right bike for this trip for sure. My behind is very upset with my pseudo EE soft seat....lol

Tomorrow, we press on to the north (sore ass and all).

The 530 will do that ride all day long. 450 was good to go and I had the stock seat.

I have had enough street for a while... I cant imagine much on the KTM....
Buzz has no idea of pain... his ass is as hard as his head...

Good luck guys....

TET Day 3

Brett and I rode some of the nicest ridge roads, forest roads, mountain roads, twisty roads in the USA today!

We are in Franklin, NC for the night before heading back south.

Here are some pics from today (not in order).
