Wonder if he still thinks I had some business in P-cola at 8:30 on a Sunday morning?

BZ check Ebay, and there was a KLR 250 for parts on CL in that area not too long ago...

A dubious honor, to be sure.

And BTW--I was so stoned thanks to that morphine drip that I don't think I even realized it was 8:30 on a Sunday AM when you visited me in the hospital...I was so far out there, Hunter S. Thompson himself woulda been proud.

This is bat country

Totally agree Mug. United we stand. I may not ride to Madison County or Colorado but I really do like hearing about it and seeing pics. This is a forum for ADVENTURE riders not KTMers or Beasties or single trackers. There are forums out there for each or those.

Ya know who I think of when in comes to Adventure riders???

Mr Ineptizoid himself. I've said this before, to be out there on your own, covering the land, in what ever form, is an advendure! Good for you mang!

So anyway its raining like hell over here. But who knows what tomorrow morning will bring. Like I said, I can go rain or shine so its up to you guys.

So far Me, Froth, new guy, MItrans and Jagluvr, Soulman hopefully. Post in the morning before you leave and I will wait for you.

8AM roll out. Timberlake parking area. Fast burn DS/O 2.5

All welcome

Took a little different approach to Eglin today. Took a nice cruise in the Jeep with Richard. Cut in by 98 West liquor store, made my way over to Timberlake pond. Went back up to the little lookout tower and snapped a few pictures. Went west on RR213 and made a detour down to mug's mystery crater. Saw some fresh tracks through it, who was it??

I did find one hole that was hiding something which stopped me dead in my tracks. Took a nice tug from a f250 passing by.

Here a little panorama I took.

Here is a little article about a test the did a few days ago at eglin. Looks like it might have been at test rang B-71 based of my google maps kung fu.

Nice pics there sallad!

Billy--$80 for a chain slider sounds a lot like highway robbery--sliders for all the late-model dirtbikes are $20-$30 from any number of online sources...but of course none of em have sliders for KLRs big or little. There was a guy on klr650.net (dirtly) making poly sliders for 650s that you could install without swingarm removal, but I don't know if he makes em for 250s or not.

The guys that do chain conversions on Buells make their own, might be worth a try--finding the right material seems to be the biggest challenge:

Seems like Nylon 4.6 is the way to go...

Sallad, I am now calling that Mini Tower cause Brian wanted to stop there and take pics. Sounds like a wet ride today.

Mea culpa. I ain't the real deal, seeing as how I haven't actually ridden cross-country but once, and that was 14 years ago...I've grown soft in my advanced old age. Hey, I'm an Official Old-Timer now, whaddaya expect??

You shoulda seen the looks on the faces of the Beast Feast attendees when I came trailering up Walt's driveway back in '06. 60+ guys rode out there, and I'm the lone dipwad that shows up with his bike on a trailer...

I was the butt of many jokes that weekend:

Them: Hey man what's wrong with yer bike, it's on a trailer
Me: Um, well, it's, um...it's a KLR

Riotous laughter ensues

6:20AM and it NOT raining over here.

Looks like it might be a clear morning.

Count on wet trails and packed sand. Dust will be bad!

Phil is also going to join us. Looks like a good ride shaping up.

Post of call me if you are not going to make it.
