Kymco Agility 125CC vs Super 8 150CC

Hey everyone,

I plan on buying my first Scooter from a dealer close to me. Right now they have both the Agility in stock at 2300 and the Super 8 at 2700. I want to know if the extra CCs and larger size tires are worth the extra $$$.

What would the differences in top speed be?

Acceleration?

Good prices OTD?

Is the extra storage in the Agility and the rack on the back a better trade than a few more MPHs?

Also tell me anything else I should know about the scooters!

I found a blur 220i at the dealer for 3700 OTD with a helmet how do you guys feel about it?

I have a Super 8 150. It was my first scooter and I love it. The Agility is also a great scooter but I didn't fit on it. I have a 34" inseam and my legs ended up fouling the handle bars.

It's easy to find a new non-current Super 8 for less money too. I'll bet you can find one for less than $23000. MSRP on a new Agility is $1899. mSRP on the Super 8 is $2499.

I've looked into the non-current option but the only local dealer that carries Kymco only has 2012/2013 models. He does have 4 red Super 8s in stock so I was thinking I could maybe get somewhat of a deal on one of those.

Also the closest used is 200 miles away.

The larger tires would get my vote right there. If you're in any rough stuff, they make a huge difference.

You'd spend lots more trying to get the extra 25ccs worth of performance out of the smaller one.

If you mention where you're located, one of the forum members may know somebody who has one or the other for sale. Here's a '09 Super 8 w/ very low miles for $1800 obo in Chicago suburbs, not mine, just saw it while looking for a zuma.

I was so close to buying a 2013 Super 8 150 early August. They wanted full MSRP plus fees; about $3300 OTD. Still, it was cheaper than the Zuma 50f from the other dealer OTD.

School starts here in August so I held off to keep focus on getting the school year started. Do prices tend to drop in the fall/winter months?

So, I haven't really contributed to this thread other than my quoted price. As for which one, I felt the Super 8 was comfortable size wise but it doesn't really float my boat. The Agility is a great price but the dealer only had Super 8's. He said he "missed the boat" on ordering scooters. Therefore I couldn't try it out. They are a BMW/Royal Enfield dealer too.

That all being said, I'd like to do business locally, so the Super 8 might be in my future unless they get others. Of course a PCX and Zuma 125 are also in town.

Well, hopefully there is some useable info from my post...

We are a Kymco dealer and I will tell you there is a reason we do not stock the Agility, 50 or 125, many issues over the years....not worth the headache. The Super 8 has been better for sure but with Kymco, look for the model with VIN numbers that start with "R", mad in Taiwan and not a "L", made in China, there is a difference. The Super 8 is a "L" as is the Agility and the Like, seemingly decent values but there is a reason they cost less. The People, Downtown, and Exciting models are "R" models and are really good quality wise. Here in Phoenix we sell the Super 8 for $2434 OTD if that helps at all.

If you want a great quality scooter in the size and budget of the Agility look at the Genuine Buddy 125, great quality, great warranty, good little scoot!

I'm now thinking of getting a Blur 220I they have it for 3700 otd. This excludes taxes and registration because I'm buying out of state. With taxes its about 4000. I've been told by the dealer they can get me a cs-r2 HJC helmet for less than amazon can at 80 dollars. I'm thinking of negotiating down to 3650 to get the helmet included and total it out around 3700. What do you guys think? Its a jump up I know.
