I been watching this one. More to do than just drive over and get it.

I think how, I think how can I do this!!! What a tease.

Just there two weeks ago on a sailboat and no bike at the time.

I think I feel a sick day coming!

Any more north and the Ontario Tag thread will absorb it. Is there an Ontario Tag thread?

When I move out of Ohio I'm gonna put my bike on a boat and take a GPS and protractor with me.

So does the gate rule apply here? If someone goes up in the middle of the night does the ferry boat dock count? (assuming they are closed at night)

Nope, you must strap your bike to your back and swim over. Seriously though this does beg the question of access. It is not on a state route is it? Although the person who does get this will be master tager for whom the mortals will tell stories to compare with Paul Bunyan and Davey Crocket!

The tag is located on a state route. Also if you go for this you will incur a $43.00 transportation fee to the local water taxi.

Well, there are multiple "docks", Miller's and then the faster one out of Sandusky. Jet Express, I think... "For when a very pleasant 20 minute ride accross Lake Erie is just unacceptable".

I'd say the closest ferry dock, Miller's, should count only if this is an after hours tag and the ferry is closed. After all, the tag must be accessible at all hours. The state route thing was never put into effect so it wouldn't apply here anyway.

I wouldn't mine riding up to get this but frankly I don't want to incur a $50 transportation fee to the island and I'm interested to see how long the whiners up north ignore the thread when they have a tag in their backyard.

It technically would be accessable at all hours. It's just that the easiest, most convenient forms of public transportation to/from the tag, close overnight. There's nothing stopping someone who might have their own boat, knows someone who has a boat, or could hire a private boat, from getting over there at 2am. Heck, maybe someone has a helicopter capable of carrying a motorcycle over.

I had not considered those options.

I guess it depends on what your definition of 'is accessible' is.

If the drama is to much for everyone I do have another tag that does not require a boat. Although in my defense there was nothing in the rules about not using ferries to get to a tag.

I think it's a great Tag. Just curious who of the Northern folk have have it in 'em to go get it. Do they need a Swingset to get back inthe game?

It is a fine tag. I would be proud to call it my own, if it was.
