How much of a fuel savings are you guys actually getting? If I can keep off the busa it gets low-mid 40's, the Dr gets low 50s. Both need to be ridden to save fuel though. Most of the time the busa is about 40 give or take, and the Dr mid 40s. At my size I'd imagine I couldn't pull much better fuel numbers than that on a tiny bike unless it was freeway riding it.

My much less modern, much less aerodynamic, klr 250 easily does 65 mpg. That's buzzing along at 7000 rpm.

My `06 Ninja 250 got about 65 mpg in most types of riding. Im 6'2" 220# so not a small guy either.
For most bikes they will get best mileage when ridden conservatively on rural highways (<60mph). High speeds (>70) seem to kill mileage faster than stop and go. My commute is all urban and a full tank on the commute lasts only a little less than it does riding on back roads. However when I took the freeway to MI (~80mph) I was getting 5-10mpg less.

Compared to cars, bikes are very light but not very aero. So high speeds hurts mileage more but stop and go less so. Unless you try besting your 0-60-0 time at every intersection.

I wanted a white Tiger 800 so I can be just like my tag hero jimjim. In order to help poor jimjim, who rarely seems to get a tag anymore, I put the new one in his backyard. Rush on over to Rushsylvania and grab it!

I get 75 mpg on my XT250 no matter how hard or easy I ride it. I got 184 miles out of a tank once, but that was running it pretty low. (total is 2.5 gallon)
