Where has your NX gone today - in the spirit of VC

So it was one of those days when you just decide to sacrifice work time
and productivity for something as painful as riding
Judging by the number of bikes out on the roads there I was not the only one.

So I strapped the ol'bag to the rack got a bottle of water and some cookies and headed out to some familiar grounds. Soon we were where I like it - in hill country.

It was really nice to ride these roads in their hard packed and un-rutted state. Over the winter they were much hairier to get through.
Maintenance-Shmaintenance

one of my fav short stretches of dirt road,
cuz I can get there fast

I like going up it more then down...no wait change that to both

soon after it was time for some twisties and a quick break before heading home

now if you think of inmate handles this is pretty funny

what a great day!
still loving my wee bike and the places it takes me

The Sacrifices we make for the NX. Giving up Work to ride - what a man.
Looked like a super day!

Security switch on side leg stand.

I am a happy owner of an Ax-1, which need a new support leg. I found one in Germany, and it arrived with a swich shich is to go into serial connection with the stop switch. I have now looked on all pictures on the internet, and I still dont know how it is mecanicaly mountet. I have figured the electrics out and it is ready to go, but where in the hell is the switch mountet on the stand leg or on the frame. Help is most welcome, and picture will be a real nice eastern present.
For others with sun cracked acrylic/plexiglas over the instrument pods, here is the solution Vaseline and a couple off hours in the sun, and even scratches disapper. I hav eno picture becourse it happened by accident, like discovering penicillin.

I have always thought the NX Honda's were very cool and I 've wanted one for a long time but they do not come up for sale around here very often or are beat to crap when they do.

I have come apon two, 1988 NX 250's for sale. One with 6600 original miles, runs and looks nice in the pictures. The other has 11,000 on it, bad CDI, torn seat, missing mirror could use some TLC, $500. I think if I buy the nice one I'll buy the other for parts or something.

I've read through a good deal of this thread. I guess my only concern would be parts availability.

Where'd you go this Easter?

Ride report here - can't wait for CDI to arrive - hopefully this week, then return for the back road tour of East Cape on the AX-1.

New and Improved NX

Finally got my bike together after being apart all winter. I swapped in an SV650 shock (man does that make the bike lean when on the stand), redid front forks with 10 weight, painted all the plastic (bought it white, last year all dark grey, this year going for the Honda look), thorough cleaning of the carb (unfortunately I tried to reuse gaskets and I discovered the bowl is leaking just a bit so a new gasket is on order), new handlebars (thanks to a nice wreck my last ride last year), new front turn signals (again, wreck and still on order). I think that's about it. Can't wait to start riding!

Looks good in red

Mine also leaned over quit a bit, so much so It bothered me so I extended the stand about 1.5".

120/90x16 is OEM size (rear) on my 250s. I just paid $70 USD delivered for a Bridgestone TW. Tire two may be a bit narrower.
