Well, it's not quite as nice as it looks. Some scrapes here and there, cracks on the rear fender by the brake light. I think it sat outside at some point, because some of the plastic has a lot of UV damage, and some of the metal has oxidized. But I didn't really want a garage queen.

P.S. Valvecrusher, I realize now this should have gone in the other NX thread. Didn't mean to dilute the technical nature of this one with a bunch of gossip.

How is the wet traction? Is is worn evenly, or flat in the middle?
Offroad performance? dirt/loose sand?

Have you pushed the tire yet?
Does it warm up quick, on the road?

Please let us knoow about durability too, as in mileage that it lasts.

Any chunking?

Thanks, Wyo...
You are the actual first person to actually have this tire that i know of. Inputs would be greatly appreciated...It's one of our like 6 choices for a 16" DOT knob

You'll have to give me time on that Valvecrusher. I'm still very new to the whole two wheel business (this being my first one).

I think the only thing I'll be able to really tell you until I become more experienced is how long the tire lasts. As of right now it looks like the tire is within a couple hundred miles of being new. I did notice a little cracking around the base of some lugs but I think that's more from sitting in a garage.

From reading about these bikes (I always research a lot before buying anything) I know that the CDIs are known weak points. Does anyone have a confirmed dead CDI that I may be able to fool around/tinker with? I'm always looking for interesting projects.

What different tire options do I have for the front of the NX? Do I have to stick with the 90/100 19, or can I use a 90/80 19, or a 100/90 19?

What about tube sizes? I don't really understand those either.

CDI problem

Jeff

Where did you end up getting a new CDI? I have one I beileve is dead (or is dying) so I will likely be in the market for one real soon. I guess I'll operate on the one I have and see if I can save it.

Looky what followed me home!!
It's an '88, and it's pretty rough...

don't know why people treat them this way

First look when i got home with him...eeeech!

It looks like there has been a little custom work done....lol, none of it positive...

As you probably know, the bikes appearance might tell you hints about the type of treatment the owner gave it..
In this case, he used it as a plow/furrower..

I heard Honda put great engines in the NX250, however, all i found was mud...

Now, I swore this guy said like new, nothing wrong with it...

Now that you are totally sickened....
Let's see if he cleans up good...

Now, that's a little better... at least the seat only has a FEW holes..

And the motor, looks a little better like this...heyyyyy, i see some pearl in that Traditional Blue Metallic
'

Here's the result

Man, the people of NC will fix anything with duct tape..
