Best $130 I've put into this bike so far. Really makes a difference on long motorway journeys. As a test, I rode from central NJ to Cape May and back with the stock pegs, and then just this afternoon did the same to test the lowering kit. With the stockers, I had to stop after about 2 hours or so and stretch my legs. I didn't have to stop with the lowering kit. |

Okay, just bought my second one. I need to sell the '86. Any interest out there? Runs great.

Here is the bike that I'm selling.
![]() I'm asking $1,450 for it. 49K miles. Good tread on tires. Runs strong. Shocks rebuilt within last two years (according to the original owner). Clymer manual. New switch gear (left installed, right in hand). New grips. Fresh oil change and coolant replacement. Fresh gear oil in final drive. The bad: Front fairing has a number of cracks and is very fragile where the right mirror attaches. Some of the internal attachment points for the mid fairings are missing. All fairings are attached well enough, just not as originally designed. Tank and front fender both have clear-coat issues, but no dents. The bike is super clean for its age. You could eat off of the carbs. I picked up a 2004 model just because I want to spend some time with this bike and wanted to start with a newer platform. I wish my '04 was taken care of as well as my '86!. There is also a new Right mirror and peg mounting bracket (guess what happened?). I will be getting the right luggage attachment antler fixed as well. The bags are in good shape for their age and did not suffer from the parking lot tip. Parts are plentiful like crazy for this bike. It is even more common than the KLR it seems. You can find anything on ebay for it.

Just picked up 01, 20k miles.
Any suggestion for GPS mount? I see one that gas on the gas cap on Goldwing one that you mount to the two screw on the handle bars. I am thinking the later, cause that one goes with a ball mount.

The Kaw manual is $80! Clymer is definitely more cost effective.

I bolted a RAM ball to the unused hole on top of the left handlebar controls ... see photo.

![]() Dude! Of course that bike looks to be in great condition, and you have a lot of farklerization going on, but that seems real high for a bike that's old enough to vote. |
