Let the challenge begin.........

During take off at HomeDepot at Quezon City, many riders and cagers participated in this event. As early as 8pm they slowly arrived.....

The first group to arrive are my friends from Bicol (Naga)

They arrived too early that they had time to sleep .....

Slowly the riders poured in.....

The starting line....

My announcer friends....

Souvenieers anyone?

The Marshal's ID...

The Marshals....

Marshals putting the medical tags to the participants....

Here I was with one of my friends during that exciting moment....

Attention Inmate,Ladies and Gentlemen of ADVrider forum!

gsblue is the overall chairman of the VII BOSS Ironman Challenge. He did a good job from organizing the start to the end, which happens to be this Friday, January 20, the presentation on the finishers at BMW Autohaus. Good job my friend, classmate and Baler Ride buddy bro! Hats off to you!

here is the very busy 2012 BOSS IronMan Challenge Chairman tracking the riders and participants position with his laptop and cellphone thru his company www.wru.ph

Still too busy to take time to look at the camera and smile.....

Here is gsblue at the finish line officially welcoming a finisher...

And another finisher, beside him standing on his left is Max Kienle, the only Dakar Finisher (participated twice but crashed once) from the Philippines.

And welcoming a Ironlady finisher.....

Can you share some details about your thumper? It looks like a great little bike for urban combat and tight, twisty roads. How many cc's?
There's are lot of sad stories mentioned about mindanao but life goes on here in the place & ride on.. about the bike, yes perfect for daily routine, it has 150cc engine, beefy 14'' wheels, comes with usd fork & pretty sure much better than the ordinary underbone

I'm sure you will make good use of those in the Ironman challenge.

About that 280km's (or more) fuel range...don't try to go 312km's like me, you'll be sorry!
I regularly get 325 to 350 kilometers before my "low fuel" light comes on on the F650 Dakar. After that I have about another 100 km's to go before I run out of fuel.

Update on the Marikina - Infanta route. Me and my daughter did a 380kms ride around yesterday. The Marikana to Infanta route is now all concrete and sealed roads. There were some very short dirt roads remaining.

You should try it one time.
Thanks for the recon and info....

I tried it a year ago to bring my bike back to the RP from Oman which was purchased new at Autohaus in Libis.. Same old shit, i was told by customs that i would have to pay duty to bring it back, when i questioned them how is it possible to collect customs duty twice as the bike had duty paid when new by Autohaus, they just said that is the rules. That was in September and the only possible explanation is that it was one of the "Ber" months, meaning getting close to Christmas.. I will never ever attempt to import, bring back or deal with customs here again for the rest of my life.
