Oh man....put in another good several hours of wrenching on the 530 this afternoon....ohhhh man....is this thing starting to come together!!!
I'll post some pics ASAP....but it's ready to ride now!
1) JD Jet kit
2) FMF Q4Ti
3) 14/48 with stock chain
4) Racetech suspension front and rear
5) Hardparts fan kit
6) waterless racing coolant (CRT is on the way too)
7) Desmogged
8) replaceable spoke weights (3oz front 4oz rear)
9) 25 liter Hardparts tank (and in-line fuel filter now.)
10) KTM Barkbusters
11) wolfman rolie bags (these are really nice - what a great tip!)
12) MSR front fender bag
2 spare tubes, 3 tire irons, 2 master links, hand air pump, tube patches, stock tool kit with a couple doo-dads added, zip ties and that 1 rolie bag isn't quite full yet...and I still have 2 more to use!

At 50 hours of ride time, I had over 400hrs of garage time, and that was without a mechanical breakdown...just maintenance and modding.

That ratio is probably 50/50 now...

I have not done this but...

A couple of buddies have vented their bikes to the frame where the fuel tank is vented. They drilled and inserted a brass elbow fitting, and ran the hose under the tank to the oil vents.

Mine has never let me down...

167hrs and counting...95% off-road...maybe 50% single track...never opened the motor, not even for a valve check

Dropped 200 times; over the bars 3 times...a dozen 3rd gear plus get-offs...original bars, wheels, plastics.

But with a bike this powerful and light uses a lot of oil, tires, drivetrains, bearings, seals, shifters, blinkers, taillights, etc

Thanks for the reply Dutch. I have my carb vent lines routed under the seat. Here's a little more info to figure this out. My front tire went into a deep hole and I fell to the right. My silencer never went under and I hit the kill switch before the front end submerged. I suspect it was my crank vent hose, the one with positive air pressure, might be the culprit. Hot engine, extremely cold water. When I killed the engine negative pressure sucked water up the line? Is this possible?

Dunno...but it could have entered through the airbox, no?

Yeah, the airbox would account for the engine oil but it's the tranny oil that has got me perplexed.

How do you have it set up?

Stock, the trany and engine vents are combined at a T fitting and then they are vented into the carb.
