Ok guys......I need a battery. I think the cold weather knocked it out finally. Trail Tech, Shorai ? I hear plus and minuses. I'm not running anything out of the ordinary.....yet. Just a stock headlight and a euro tail light. Thanks!

I am a fan of turn tech.

http://turntechbattery.com/TurnTech%...y/Welcome.html

During the first 600 miles on my Berg I went thru 4 batteries. Put a 5ah TurnTech in and have over 3,500 miles on it. Last Sunday I went on a 6 hour night ride. I put my 8" 100 watt halogen on. Stoping all the time to play with my new GPS. We were following a new 100 mile loop. Never an issue. When I bought the 5ah, I ordered a 10ah for my 990. It sat in my garage for over a year before I put it in my bike. Turns the 990 over just fine.

Britania - this is the lynx model website is:

It is pricey but it gave me the lighting I want as well as the ability to have a higher fairing for the long asphalt runs I am anticipating.

And yes, KCM1 it will be expensive on a hard get off and thank you for bringing it up (I'm guessing you're a glass half empty kind of guy). Hopefully, if anything breaks it will be the extended fairing but we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks lopaca. I think it is a really great looking setup. It may be worthwhile for some more dirt road oriented trips later on down the road. It makes lots of options available.

Thanks for the link.

I'm thinking of trying one of these- next time! Price is right----and got a recommend from someone using it on his BMW road machine. Anybody know anything about these units?

I installed a 7Ah Yuasa in my punkin' machine. Turns it over just fine and I do not always put it on the tender.

Back from a week at Moab. AWD worked the whole time (for a change).

Looking for more power when the trails open up a bit (bigger guy and the AWD weight).

Already decorked, clean filter, JD jetted, geared to 13/49-52, MAP switch in circuit closed normally - which one has the aggressive curve, open or closed?

Without removing the carb to have a look, does the throttle stop screw limit WOT?

Akro pipe/can worth it?

565 kit?

Thanks in advance.

Um, really?

Are you really that threatened by my observation that a fairing on an EXC makes as much sense as lipstick on a pig?

I wasn't insulting YOU, just thinking I'd prefer to ride my dirtbike like a dirtbike and not like a GS... although I do a fair to middlin job at throwing money away on THAT bike too....

Lipstick on a pig

KMCI----Let's don't be too 'half full' on this one----I've found (long ago---not recently) that certain shades of lipstick really did enhance the appearance of some of the pigs that I went with----ha ha

I think this thread's OP is putting a fairing on his bike...why don't you post up with some of your expert opinions on his build ...

Like really who are you? Oh, you're a GS guy ....ah fergetit

Just remember there's always someone more gnarly than you, twisting the throttle a further than you.
