Yes they did. They shipped the jumper wire immediately. It was in the mail the same day.

The only difference between the two kits is the jumper wire in the 8313.

I feel the website is misleading because it says the 8310 kit is for 450 and 530 exc which is incorrect since the 450 and 530 exc models have key switches. Mine is not a Champions/Racing/-R model, just an EXC.

In the last few weeks I've been a bit indecisive.

After 10,000+ miles of Enduros/HS's/DS rides/Commuting/SM trackdays, etc., I sold my WR250R

and bought a plated 250xcw. Great bike for enduros and HS's. But wasn't feeling the 2 stroke thing. So, I traded it for....

....this 530exc. I think I've found the bike for me! This thing is badass.

Anyway, I've got a bit of work to do as far as the wiring goes. All the lights have been disconnected, signals/wiring removed, ignition switch taped up with key in it and relocated, etc. But mechanically it's rock solid and runs great! Look forward to reading more of this thread and gaining more knowledge from you guys.

Aftermarket front fairing does not have the clip on it to route the front brake line, brake light and speed sensor wiring over it so he has to run it behind the fairing.

It looks like he wrapped it in black plastic spiral wire protector that you can buy at Home Depot or any automotive parts store.

I like the light idea, I hate that style of aftermarket fairing.

Why not make the light kit that fits into the stock fairing.

That's my main issues with it, aside from the fact that in using the supplied mounting straps it is real close to the CDI box and some have commented that it doesn't allow for full lock to lock steering on the 530. But yea the fairing looks like standard wide ho-hum aftermarket with the squadron light bolted to it. It would look much better IMO if retrofitted into the stock housing or fairing. That being said I don't do enough night riding to justify the cost one way or the other but I am glad to see LED lighting options expand.

Thanks for the post, YP. That's the most promising light I've seen for what I'm looking for- I love the simplicity/ durability of LED, and like the form factor of that light.

Minor diversion:

I've had my first day on the new 500, and it's promising. The chassis is similar, the suspension seems slightly better, the motor is more polished but also less tractable than the XC4- a bit prone to flameout and definitely easier to light up.

I've got a Baja Designs 8" racelight on my bike that uses the same type of fork mounts and just ran the brakeline to the outside?

Rally routing so it does not interfere w/ the spedo and GPS or eventually the road book. It flexes between the caliper and the lower triple clamp.

In order to fit the tube bag closer and tighter to the forks I set the light up in a taller position than stock. Consequently I moved the speedo up to and protected it w/ a billet component.

Baja Designs now makes a Squadron that fits the OEM mask. When I got mine it was not available. I'll have to see if I can get retrofit.

Cleaned up my switch set-up.

Start/Stop now all on the right side.

Hi/Low on the left along w/ the grip heater switch and a spot to add one more switch in the future.

and BRP Hand-guard Mounts for a nice clean look.

You can see here where the brake line was before I switch its routing. Imagine a GPS on the ball mount, it constantly got caught-up.

Here is the whole shebang:

Look what I picked up...

Nice new heat shield. Fits well on the aftermarket KTM/FMF pipe.

You can see the GPS setup and the Rally routing of the brake line here:

Common rally bike mode (and I think required by the ASO) to fix the brake line so it doesn't slide anywhere there is electronics. Lots of ways of doing this, here is an example from C.Vestal's excellent Rally Moto Kit thread. Brake line is fixed to the lower triple, flexes forwards and a bit outwards on compression. I'm sure 800 people will chime in on how it will hook a tree and put your eye out, but it works extremely well for many riders.

Looks like Dan has done something similar, though he routed the upper portion of his brake line down the other fork and crossed over at the top.

NOW we're talkin'!!

Stock plastic looks good with the squadron!

I looked on BD's website under KTM bike specific and didn't see it though http://www.bajadesigns.com/Products/...ECIFIC/KTM_EXC

Does anyone know if its available to order yet? Is a stator upgrade required?

YP, your switch and bar setup is nice! I hate the stock kill switch. I'm actually surprised nobody has killed themselves by accidentally hitting it . Oh the irony that would be. I've hit it climbing a nasty hill and it was no fun and full or cursing the bike

Hak,

Just rotate that switch forward so you can't accidentally kill it.
