Need something that is stout and wont bend up to easy. The pair I have on my 426 tend to bend and interefere with the clutch lever after a simple lay down.

What are your thoughts everyone?

I have been looking at Cycra and Fastway
Highway dirtbikes. Strongest there are...
(and nice options like integrated mirrors, indicators, etc)

See post #4084. Not the best picture but you can see the bar clamp, deflectors, and mirrors.

Valve clearance ?

Recently picked up an 08 530 EXCR. Checking the valves and have one exhaust valve that is loose at .20 (could even be a .21). I thought the valves tighten up with use?!? I'll be tearing the top end off to replace the valve stem seals. Is there anything I should be looking for as far as the loose valve? All the other valves are within spec. The left side tank mount has not been cut, so I would have to assume that no shims were ever replaced? THANKS BIG TIME to all those that provide the wealth of knowledge here!!!

If you're actually burning some oil, I wouldn't be surprised to see some carbon buildup on the valve. If no carbon, it's prolly just a case of it not having been checked yet. Most folks have said they need a shim or two swapped at the first check, then don't move after that.

I put new stem seals and piston in mine a few months ago. Nice bike to work on, even better to ride.

I think its time for a new battery 530.
Have there been improvements in the Shorai products? Or should I stick with conventional?
I bought a Turntech 5A and its been great so far.

I have an 08 450 XCRW that I'm doing the oil gears upgrade and etc. to tomorrow, I went ahead and tore the cover off today after work......I got the bike in trade so the Z-start was on and the hodakaguy's picture thread I'm following does not show how to to undo the clutch for a Rekluse......help? Is it the same way? what should I look for or be careful off? I noticed there is no locking nut so do the star nuts all around the center remove the clutch? Is it one piece or normal clutch and just keep them in the same order as they come off?

+1 on the HDB guards. You can nearly hang the bike from them. Bomber strong and the optional mirrors actually work well. Nice options on the bar clamp piece if you want to customize.

Time to rebuild

I have 8800 miles on my 2010 XCW and wondering when is it time to rebuild the top end.

I do want to take something a part that is not broke, but I dont want to wait to long and cost me more and mess up a ride weekend or 2

Any advise?

8800 miles, that's a good long run for one of these.
If it runs good, doesnt burn oil, starts good,Id do a compression check and see how that goes.
