I do like the traction of the suede cover though,I thought the standard heidth seat was too firm at first but it has turned out to be pretty comfy.
Either seat fits either bike,I like the modular KTM thinking.

Stock seat blows.
I'm sportin' the Tall Enduro Engineering seat on my 530 and absolutely love it. Comparing the stock seat to the Enduro engineering seat is like sitting on dental floss compared to a pillow. Just got back from a dual sport ride yesterday and we went 120 miles and the only part of my body that isn't sore is my ass! Fricken love the 530 too. Flat out rips when you want it to, and can be ridden like a trials bike if need be.

seats

I thought the stock seat on my DR650 was bad until I sat on my 530 !!! I got Fishers 208 939-6513 to make me one its not a kit they make it for you. I love it and they where great to deal with at least give them a call before you do anything. AB

I'm on the seat concepts and love it. I switched over from the 520/525 with a tall EE seat and switched to the tall Seat Concepts seat and found the bike was quite a bit taller than the old 525/520 with the tall seat. So I sold the tall seat concepts seat and bought a regular. This also sounds crazy since I'm 6'5 but being 1" lower or so in the saddle makes a big difference with handling...

The EE seat was actually pretty squishy and uncomfortable and you move a lot. The Seat Concepts seats are completely awesome. I switched to a regular height seat and love it. I also had a seat concepts on my old XR650R and they are the best out there in my opinion in terms of comfort, durability, value, etc. It single handedly takes the dirtbike and makes it ridable for days on end, commutes, hours on slab, etc more than anything else in my book...

here are the tall and regular nex to each other.

and here it is with the regular seat

I also pulled my theromostat. I have a fan with the switch and it occasionally kicks on but it turns off very quickly. It runs great without the thermostat. In my case the thermostat is removed and the housing is just JB welded close...

Guys checking over my new used 09 530, I have one intake that's a touch tight. I have .006 on both exhausts and .003 and .005 on the intakes.
I work in English this metric stuff is tough for me.. Any how that transfers into .152 for the exhausts and .076 and .127 for the intakes.
I get that I have to go to the Harley shop for parts as apparently KTM shims are different than the Japanese shims.

What increments to shims come in ?

And do you guys have a procedure on how to do this in this thread ?

Thanks for the help

Actually I found this http://paochow.com/forum/index.php?topic=40.0

Is it really that easy, I don't have to take the cam out ?

Why is everybody so worried about checking and adjusting the valves on these bikes if it's really this easy ?

Yes it is easy, and no you dont need to take the cams out. Just slide the rocker shaft out.
