Killer Seat Deal; $50 for new foam installed!

Just dropped off my seat to a local upholstery shop and it will only cost $50 to have new foam installed in the seating area (he pointed out that there was no need to replace all the foam, just where the rider makes contact).

If interested here's the place http://www.foamnfabric.com/

BTW~The guy who helped me has an XR250 so he understands the need for softer seat foam on a KTM.

I found it was easer to purchase a Halgoen BA20D from Sicass Racing.

That is fitting a H4 into a H7 socket. This will place the filament at the incorrect location within the reflector and was done on the FZ6 to get rid of the single-sided headlight, not to increase the actual light output from a single reflector. This only creates more light in an FZ6 because there are now 2 bulbs burning at all times instead of one.

In our application, we only have 1 bulb burning at one time, so this wouldn't make any difference other than the wattage being higher. By placing the H4 bulb in our reflector, there is the possibility that the filament position would be in the incorrect location, so while it may seem like there is more light (due to the increased wattage) there is actually less of the same USABLE light output.

The only way to increase the light output of the stock headlight dramatically is to change to a different reflector design. The older RFS headlight would be better, but ultimately a dual bulb HID setup would provide more usable light.

That looks like a 950 Adv fender to me. Charlie can get you the necessary mounting brackets for non Adv forks.

Nice! I'm going to remove the swing arm on my 530 this winter to service the bearings...now I'm thinking I may just powercoat the swing arm black while its off.

A good news/ bad news post:

Bad news: the 2010 is gone. Sold to my friend Gnarlykarle last night, may it bring him as many smiles as it did me.

Our last ride together was the Tecate Enduro in Mexico, which was maybe the most fun I've had in a race. 90 miles of tight singletrack and perfect conditions! Big pro field including GNCC winners, a couple of National Enduro Champions, and altogether about 20 some factory supported guys, everyone was "Strong B or better" so there were no B or C classes.

I finished 35th out of 240, Big tank, Renazco seat, Double Take Mirror, License Plate and all. Truly a bike that can do everything.

I'll miss her!

Good news: My 2011 530 is in at KTM of Aspen. Now to make it up into the mountains and pick it up!

(and on a sidebar note, apparently it's raining bikes here, because I also just grabbed a 2009 400XCW. I liked racing the 530 so much I said to heck with the Husaberg, to heck with 2 strokes, I want a 530 that turns better and doesn't scare me as much, so when I ran across a cheap 400, I decided to go for it. More on that later. Anyone want a 2009 FE 450 with a street title? ).
