Here is a picture of my '08 530. Rekluse clutch and LH rear brake on the bars. This bike would go anywhere!

That one was sold and I am expecting another big brown box from Steve Christini any day soon. Same deal, I will be fitting it to my '11 530 and scooting off to Morocco for some sand action!
If you have any questions please just ask!
Regards, Barrie.
How about a little product review?

Hey Mr Dutch,

The '08 was sold a while back but I am just waiting on a DHL van to turn up any day soon with a new AWD frame for my '11 530.
Once everything is transferred over I have a number of events I've entered, some UK rallies and a trip to the dunes of Morocco. Will put together some ride reports with the focus on how well the AWD works.

Here is my 530 prior to the conversion...

Is the 530 going away and a 500 in it's place? is anything going to change except the number?

If so I'll bet it has a 150w stator, redesigned case and single enlarged oil sump that holds 2.1 quarts of oil.

Acerbis 6.3 Tank

Installed my 6.3 tank tonight and don't like the routing of the fuel lines. Anyone that has this tank got any advice?

My right petcock line goes over the coolant hose by the thermostat and then between the head and carb. to the Y. The left petcock line goes strait back to the Y and to the carb. The left line is tight but just hanging in the open waiting for something to yank it off.

Two questions for you 530 experts...

The chain slap you hear when you first start it up... is that OK??
Mine goes away when it warms up but it is certainly loud initially. Every bike I've owned has this ... but for some reason the 530 seems to be more noticable. I've heard a lot if you have installed an aftermarket chain tensioner.... besides the noise, does it improve reliabilty?? Mine is an 09 with only 2500 miles on it...

Also too... different chain... different question... but the chain guide on the back... how important is it to upgrade that thing to a more beefy one. Anybody ever knock their's off in the rocks?? I rode Taylor last year and it made me bit nervous... hate to see that thing come off out in the middle of no where!

500 exc

What the Hell? Really, this is messing me all up. Been saving pennies for months ready to buy a 530 in June and this comes out?

Does anybody have any hard detail on these? Worth the wait? Dont buy the first model year? Fuel injection? Harder to change between tanks? Less or more reliable?

Great now I have to start another excel spreadsheet with accessories for this one!

Just dual sporting not racing....Opinions?

Upgrade the cam chain tensioner to a dirt tricks one, will solve the chain slap issue, andwill quiet the engine signifigantly.
Also upgrade the chain a sprockets to the ironman sprockets by dirt tricks (will last forever) with a regina 520 chain...
