Which rear tire? OE size or something like a 606? I was debating swapping a 14 in front to make it better on the highway.

Running D-756 110/18 right now. Usually run Dez IT 110/18 or IT100/18. Had 13/47 sprockets on previously & this now 14/48 is very close, broader more usable 1st gear & a tad better top end on highway.

Lighter and less bulk but plenty strong and I dare say more stable when used as directed.

Looked at a 08 wrx yesterday with a sticker price of 5900. Went back today and offered 5500 which was accepted, but when we wrote it up they added on 1200 for shipping and handling, so the price of the bike was not 5500 but 6700. I was so excited to be buying the bike and so disgusted at what I thought were shit business practices, I walked out. Anybody have a good used wrx or r for sale in southern CA.

+1 on this product! I fits neatly in my already over-stuffed tool tube. It's paid for itself by making regular chain maintenance easier. I should probably figure out how raise the front wheel.

If it's not a CA model (some were sold out of state, by dealers snatching up inventory from belly-up California dealers) you can IF and ONLY IF it has at least 7500 miles on the odometer. There are probably only a handful of WRR/X's with that many miles, and most of those aren't for sale .

The quickest way to tell in a photograph is to look at the skid plate area. A California model will have a black canister about 3" in diameter paralleling the front downtube holding the charcoal evap. system. This isn't foolproof with a used bike because there's nothing stopping an owner from pulling it off, but it's one clue.

Unfortunately, a dealer from the used car lot side of life.

So was that $6700 out the door, including tax, reg fees, etc.? If so, I'd say that was high by about $700. There are people here who've paid even less, but from my recent experience, California Yamaha dealers know exactly where every CA model is in the state, they talk to each other, and they ain't dealin'.

You can try a counteroffer, but I tried working with a dealer like that in NorCal--East Bay Motorsports--and they wouldn't budge below $8400 otd! They didn't get the sale...

There is an '09 out my in VT with 8700 miles on it for $3500. That will qualify for CA regs.

I love my bike but $6700 for an 08 is robbery. Hang in there one will turn up. Bussiness in CA is not that good?

NO,no......5500+1200+214 plates+7.75% tax 412+55(god knows what)= 7,826. No way I can buy new!

Just keep your eyes open/check Craig's List regularly......a local friend picked up a used/stock 08 for $3K a couple of months ago......
