Nice equipment right there. No joke on the price though.
To think I'm still debating between the flatland and force rad guards with the difference in price. I suppose after I get some miles under my belt and start riding with other folk radios would be a great idea though. I guess it wouldn't be a terrible idea when just riding around in the woods of the backyard though I do get cell service there.

Had to perform some surgery today. I had an oil drain bolt that was stuck on so bad nothing I did would break it loose. So I got the grinder out and went to work. What a project it was too. This has to go down as the most pain in the ass, longest oil change in history.
First, I tried laying it on its side and using the dremel. But I couldn't get to without fear of damaging the cases. ![]() So I flipped it upside down, broke out the grinder and swung the lower part of the frame away. ![]() I finally got the bolt out, oil changed and finished prepping it for my track day tomorrow.

From what I've gathered they are all the same now. The problem was found and fixed so all new pumps are the new type. For what it's worth I'm not bothering with mine until it shows signs of failure.

Well I had a very poorly timed wreck today. Tomorrow afternoon I was supposed to be leaving to spend the weekend in MA doing the Dirtwise course. I was getting a bit too cocky and comfortable out in the woods and was going a little faster than I should have. Front wheel hits a rock the wrong way, bike starts to fling me off. I help it by getting a bit of twist on the throttle as we're going in 2 different directions. I hit the ground hard and slide/roll for a little bit, bike ends up stopped near a tree.
My left wrist/thumb joint kills but other than that I'm fine. Bike had a little meeting with that tree. Luckily there are just some stresses and one crack in the headlight bezel. Headlight itself is fine. I'll need to replace the surrounding plastic and the upper piece of the headlight assembly to make it pretty again. Right side handle bar is bent to all hell. I've been eying some new bars anyways but this was a bad time. The only thing that bothers me is the fork tubes look a little off. I haven't had it on a stand yet but it would only be slightly if they are off. A little loosen and twist should fix that up easily if there is anything. So the good part of the story. I'm able to get the bike up and on the kickstand. I'm leaning against a tree in pain and with some blurry vision. My step father and step brother ride by on the new atv. I hold out a piece of the plastic (top of the headlight bezel) and they grab it and keep going. They don't even head back to the same trail on the way back. Really? I mean come on, stop and ask if something happened. How do you not notice the nice fresh hole in the ground and me all filthy? So ya, we are clearing out the old snowmobile trails in the backyard/woods since I now have the dualsport and there is the atv and for the old snowmobiles we have here. So I end up pushing the bike out of the woods. Luckily I was only maybe 100 yards from the yard when it happened. I just couldn't deal with the bouncing on the rocks riding it. I coasted down the hill in the back to park it but wow. I'm hoping with the pills and ice my hand will be better tomorrow and I'll be able to fix her up and still make it up to MA. I'm doubting it though.
